I am the idiot with numbers. You don't have any numbers.

Now you have, but that's my numbers now. Find your own numbers, Cummrade!

You support, defend a soft tyranny. A tyranny of the nanny-state.

"Soft tyranny is an idea first coined by Alexis de Tocqueville in his 1835 work titled Democracy in America. It is described as the individualist preference for equality and its pleasures, requiring the state - as a tyrant majority or a benevolent authority - to step in and adjudicate. In this regime, political leaders operate under a blanket of restrictions and, while it retains the practical virtues of democracy, citizens influence policymaking through bureaucrats and non-governmental organizations. Or perhaps you prefer soft despotism. . .

"Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people.
Soft despotism gives people the illusion that they are in control, when in fact they have very little influence over their government. Soft despotism breeds fear, uncertainty, and doubt in the general populace. Alexis de Tocqueville observed that this trend was avoided in America only by the "habits of the heart" of its 19th-century populace. "

The bot-handle with a heart, a mage with a pipe and that idiot with numbers mob the floor with a few ill-informed members, giggle away deflections and present the alternative universe with an alternative universe.

It was a good day on ATS.

Proud to be an idiot in your eyes.

It means I'm on the side of freedom, individual rights, liberty.

It's always easy to be an idiot when the presumed area of ignorance is secret knowledge the other posters always claim to have and never share when asked directly to do so.

With numbers that support three times your military budget and free healthcare.

Best. Tyranny. Ever.

Also on the table: Yangs UBI and the Green deal to boost the economy. You will be my Minister of ... I dunno... National Security? Job description: Are you able to tear down the Patriot Act, Forever Warfare and the CIA to cherry the pie?

Deal. Anything else, full disclosure? Okay. But we'll have to burn the paperwork, working projects only! Can't deal with the blowback from that ticking time-bomb...

Did you see the reaction to my posit about growing a government they acknowledge as corrupt?

It was quite telling.

Actually, I work in the healthcare field. It's not free.

Best. Tyranny. Ever.

Self-explanatory.

So you want a corrupt government in control of everything.

Deal. Anything else, full disclosure? Okay. But we'll have to burn the paperwork, working projects only! Can't deal with the blowback from that ticking time-bomb...

Just wondering when you'll put us in camps.

Who do want to be ruled by?

When have the poor, ruled?

Really, asking the question.

When have the poor ruled over the wealthy?

Name a time an era, a period, an epoch in human history when the poor dictated to the wealthy.

Who cares if they follow or not? Just drop it by 45%, that still leaves us spending more on it than any other nation. Could probably do that just by cutting down on all the fraud and graft. What was the estimate? 20 trillion? I saw how that works. “Here, sarge. The quarter is ending And we need you to spend the rest of the money so we get more next year. Order whatever you want!”. That was my unit. I am picturing this repeating itself through every section in every unit through the whole nation, and the whole world.

Your understanding in the military is rather limited, what did you do 4 or 6 years?

Ya whatever, Trump's fault? Is Trump the war machine that been going on since WWII? BTW so we cut it and I guess we can pay Chinese wages too to make up the difference. Do you think the Chinese pay less because they do less? Lol how ignorant.

20 trillion over how many decades, you throw some so called fact around, but we bring in 4 trillion per year in taxes, so explain how 4 trillion per year equates to 20 trillion, sounds more like the left's medicare program.

Hahaha, y’all are nutz! Anyway to answer your question, the new deal and the Bretton woods was the closest people got to forcing change on the wealthy. And it ushered in our golden era. The difference between rule by gov and rule by oligarchs is at least we have some influence on gov.

The only socialist institutions that ever worked without degrading into something else were the monasteries. I think that the Dems [a.k.a. party of inclusion and diversity] may use the 2020 elections to rid themselves of old white millionaires as they will collide during the primaries and then dash themselves on the rocks of the General and sink beneath the waves. Comrade Bernie is getting a second chance to self destruct along with Creepy Joe and No-Big-Gulp-for-You Bloomberg. They will all be too tired or underground in 4 more years. Bloomberg will still pour money into the Dem candidates unless he is underground. The party of inclusion and diversity is planning for 2024.
The tactic of sacrificing the PITA losers was seen most recently as the GOP rid themselves of McCain as a candidate after he tanked by stupidly picking Airhead Palin as his VP, one small heart attack from the Presidency. We were then saddled with Hussein the Lazy, Mr. hope and change who was saddled with Joe. Just when we thought we could rid ourselves of him, the GOP thought up Romney-Ryan who were not on the same page or even in the same book. Pure RNC political genius, although Romney is a Dem at heart.

Now they will finally rid themselves of Bernie, who should have limited himself to union organizer and local ward healer. Sanders' field organizers will go back to mom and borrow money to sit in the coffee shop and speak big thoughts to impress the coeds. They will fade, too.

Do poor people provide jobs? Ever?

The question is what do you need to make to reach whatever you deem as a quality of life. 50k, 100k, 200k 1 million. what do you need? Lets get down to brass tacks here...what do you need to be happy?

Power to the people. Power to the creative workers.
Money is neither free speech nor a person.
The rich just make themselves richer at everyone else’s expense. I don’t care that they have money, but that money doesn’t give them the right to make the rules.
