I don’t think that a health system, education system, or poor housing system that has the cost of profits removed, and the ability to use single payer wholesale pricing discounts is a “problem free utopia “. It’s just a sensible solution to our failing systems currently in effect.

Secondly, I don’t see it as policing the world when we are merely collecting dues we are legitimately owed.

As to profit incentive, it’s not removing profit incentive. It’s changing the profit from being generated by financial shenanigans to being generated by actually producing products. At the moment, despite the massive tax giveaway, there’s very little new investment or growth in manufacturing or other such products in the us. The big corporations use price fixing, barriers to entry, false scarcity, govt subsidies, tax avoidance, and cannibalization of worker retirement, compensation, and benefits to accrue profit. They could still make money if we removed these options, they would just have to make more, better products at better prices. It’s called work, and it’s what we are all expected to do.

Ai research will go on, in fact I’m all for strong govt investment into research and development, and with that it would more likely be new innovations and products, not a cholesterol med that is .0001% more efficient than the one about to lose its patent. But, when ai is born, I expect all research will largely done by them, along with most of the work, and tech and science will advance in an explosion to dwarf anything we’ve done over the last 40 years.

To add, China has a largely controlled market, the real “strongest economy in the world” that’s not facing an impending crash the way ours is, and they are where I expect the leading development of ai is happening, and may be the first place to drop a real ai. Regardless of whether that’s true or not, it will likely be them or us, and that’s a far cry from “our free market system is far superior to their socialist/commie/whatever system”. And their govt programs seem to be as efficient as ours.

In no study ever done has government run/ public services or products been shown to be inferior or less efficient than private. Or vice versa. It’s all ideology. Is the govt health system in the us, Canada, or Europe worse than the private system? Not by a for dollar comparison, I’d bet money on that.

Another thing to keep in mind is that our current system disincentivizes development of things we need. Nobody is working on new antibiotics because it’s not profitable, but all of our antibiotics are on the path to become useless in several decades due to bacterial evolution and overuse of current antibiotics. There is no incentive for other companies to enter competition by creating insulin or epi pens, or snake anti venom, because the minute they do the prices will drop way back down to what it was when there were several companies producing them. I don’t have to tell you the detrimental effects that’s having.

In fact, the ban on negotiating drug prices has created this huge monster where all the money is in new, slightly different drugs, to the point were groundbreaking research has ground to a halt, real new drugs are at the lowest development in our generations history, and there hasn’t been a medical miracle released in decades.

I expect similar losses have been real in many sectors, we don’t feel them perhaps, because we don’t realize what we’ve missed, but I’m sure they’re there. Hell, if Tesla was reborn today with another wardencleff tower that worked, it probably still wouldn’t be built.

Come on now, that old commie POS Bernie aint gonna beat Trump.

and I'm a former Bernie person. HAHAH

I know better now. I never wanted Socialism I just didn't want status-quo. But when Bernie got screwed and then turned around and endorsed Hillary I lost what little respect I ever had for him.

I didn't vote for Trump last time but will be this time.

Trump gets real results. Good results.

The rest of these jackals just talk and get rich at the expense of the world's people.

Can someone give me a list of 5 accomplishments from the 8 yrs of President Obama?

Ill spot you the first one (which is debatable)

1. ACA

What does Obama have to do with anything? Please don’t tell me you can’t tell the difference between Obama and Bernie. Other than that, not terribly productive post.

Forgive me for asking but...does your post have anything at all to do with a pattern of Bernie field organizers lusting for gulags, reeducation camps and rioting? You know, the topic of the OP...

You do understand that the government in the former USSR and in China now have this system going on.

What's your assessment of their handling of things like Cherynobyl and now the new coronavirus which may have walked out of one of their own viral study facilities? How do you account for the wholesale environmental destruction and the breadlines?

Or that's right ... they aren't true communism and they aren't run by the right people, and I wouldn't understand it anyway.

What Dooberino said and I will add.

When does crazy Bernie come out and address the violent lunatics on his campaign team? The dude is such a loser he wont even disavow the violent commie wackjobs he employs.

And Obama was a lousy President just like Bernie would be.

Pretty much, yes. I mean... you took that gulag note just as seriously as the other guy. Makes me wonder if anyone of you people in twisted pants have the slightest idea what kind of politics The Bern actually promotes. Hint: there are no gulags.

Shooting some highly opinionated campaign staffers serves as a distraction not to talk about his actual politics. Pathetic as it is.

“We would need a federal government and labor union movement that is working together to  strip power away from capitalists and preferably directing violence toward property.
What an ignorant comment.

“Folks keep talking about another civil war. One side has about 8 trillion bullets, while the other side doesn’t know which bathroom to use.”

You have to be a special kind of stupid to vote for Bernie.

Yeah I do and want nothing to do with them. Want to watch a country taken to the edge of collapse? Vote Bernie

Exactly my point, the sympathy bias as an excuse for ignorance.

You could've posted something on gulags, and it would boil down to the same shallow line of nonsense response. Why even bother? You really think this red scare fearmongering would be new?

Did Norway collapse already? Iceland maybe? No?

No fear mongering from me. I just think he and most of his policies are a joke. The guys an idiot that hasn’t gotten much of anything done since he’s been in politics to boot. Not someone I would want leading this country.

Norway and Iceland really? The combined population of those two countries is around 5.5 million about the total population of Colorado and you think a country of 330 million could or should even try to model themselves after those two countries? Logistically there’s no way it would ever work here and it would be ignorant to think it could.

Anyone that would hire the racist pile Symone Sanders for their campaign has a few screws loose anyway, funny she’s now with quid pro joe, go figure.

Not surprising!

Bernie is all in this for money, but some of
his "followers" remind me of cult members
from the past. What does that say about
Bernie? Thankfully he will be too old to run
again, maybe he will just take his money
from all his presidential runs and go away
and buy a fourth and fifth house.

Good riddance!

Try to imagine this happening to Donald Trump at a campaign stop. Bernie eventually left and didn't give his speech...spineless!

I wonder if Bernie's supporters will riot when the DNC redistributes his votes to the other candidates like they did in 2016.

They shouldn't be upset about that. It's what they want! Socialism.

Showman, I agree with you. Sanders is a communist and always has been. The Communist Manifesto reeks of hatred and animosity for Capitalism and free enterprise. Sanders supporters likewise have an animosity for free enterprise and seem to want socialism and redistribution of wealth. Indeed the goal of socialism/communism is the abolition of private property. It is stated in fact in the Communist Manifesto.

Anyway, the economy of the Nordic countries is not entirely a socialist model. Their success is really due to the capitalist venture there. www.google.com...

Here’s my problem. All your statements are not statements. They’re attacks. Acting like people who interpret things differently than you are idiots. And massive assumptions that sanders is just full of lies, and due to your acumen you can see right through the lies. And all this comes from your imagination.

“The economy of the Nordic countries is not entirely socialist”. That’s fine. We all know that. That’s what we want.

“Sanders supporters want an end to free enterprise, and they want wealth redistribution “. No, actually I think girls should be able to sell lemonade on the curb. And that barriers to entry need to be torn down so small businesses can compete with big media, telecoms, etc. Nobody has any problem with “free enterprise”. We have problems with “enterprise completely controlled and manipulated for and by oligarchs” which is what we currently have. Further, we don’t want wealth redistribution. We already have that. We have all the massive corporations making their profit off work other people do. What we want is our tax dollars to go to infrastructure, education, healthcare, things we all need and use. Not hyperinflated military budget handouts to black water, or Raytheon. Fk them hoes. We want a fair return on the taxes we pay, NOT HANDOUTS.

I feel bad for y’all on here thinking the world will collapse unless we have a system that allows unfettered exploitation. There’s plenty range of variance between that and an end to property rights and personal freedom and gulags, and somewhere in that range can be found a system that provides a happy, productive and stable society, something we don’t have now.
