It's a UK pastry chain.

Some of them are decent, others not so much. It depends on the staff.

You guys gotta pay for that free healthcare somehow.

The healthcare is pretty awesome but the wasted money is depressing.

Not making any claims about the healthcare other than it's got to be paid for by somebody and that somebody is the taxpayers.

But to your point...
Our government has a terrible history of wasting money and that's what scares me most about their ability to run our healthcare system.

Fun Fact : after trumps tax overhaul there arent any write off's anymore. So I went from getting a 4000.00 tax return every year to paying 1200.00 I travel for work and cannot write off mileage, hotels, food, parking, flights, rental cars etc. Since I am married I get the 24,000.00 joint deduction. Years past my deductions typically added up to 50k. I cant even deduct cash church donations, actually I tried and my balance owed went up so I removed it.

Fun Fact : after Trump's tax overhaul I wound up about $3,000 per year richer. I can still deduct all the things in the list above, but the "standard deduction" is now so high that it exceeds what I could do if I itemized, so there is no need to do it. When you add everything up on a $150K income I paid about 17% in 2018. I don't know what 2019 is yet because everything isn't in.

If you work for someone else, they should be paying all the expenses listed above. If your employer isn't paying them, you have a problem with your employer. They ought to be reimbursed. If you work for yourself and file a Schedule C, all those items are business expenses and come off the gross income before you even figure taxes themselves. I filed a Schedule C for 20 years and never paid taxes on so much as a paper clip, much less mileage, hotels, food, parking, flights, rental cars etc.
