yes on surface it appears that this disease this isnt as bad as ebola

but the difference to me (and increased fear) is that you didnt completely shut down three major citites with one having a population of 11.8 MILLION (SAY AGAIN 11.8 MILLION) people.

I saw that documentary. The reason they used their mouths to peel the garlic is because their fingernails were falling off. It was a horrible, eye-opening documentary.

My friend's dog died from eating those chicken jerky treats from China. And remember the baby formula that killed all those infants there? Never trust the food coming from China!

This disease is going to be a population reducer. They should keep the disease in asia. No more travelers allowed to or from Asia this year. Wait and see what happens. I am sure the CDC is using this he guy in Washington state to study the disease. That man sat next to people in the plane, used the plane bathroom, his air circulated the plane, he walked through the airport, used the bathroom, bought a snack, paid long term parking or got into a cab. Went home, got mail, went grocery shopping, went to work, pumped gas, got money out of ATM, went to doctors (doctors and nurse techs exposed) his sewage is in the water.... it just goes on and on the germ spread. We need to go No Contact with all Asian countries for a few months. People stuck here, can't be shipped back. Our planes, stewardesses, and pilots don't need to be over there. Ship them to India and they can get them flown in. Changes need to be made to stop contact with germs. No Contact.

I think this outbreak is much worse than we are being led to believe. This is why:

Consider the current ebola outbreak in the DRC. It has been going since August of 2018. To date there are 3416 cases with 2237 deaths. That is a sustained 65-66% fatality rate over the entire outbreak. This disease has a short incubation period, and is highly communicable. The short incubation period is why other outbreaks in small villages far from densely populated areas kept fatalities to a minimum. The disease would wipe out the entire village before it could be carried to a nearby city. This time it made it to multiple cities of more than a million people.

Butembo and Katwa, are major urban areas home to more than a million people with an international airport, and are still highly active. The hottest zone currently, however, is Beni, another major urban area home to approximately 250,000 people. The strictest measures so far have been increased inspection protocols for travel by neighbouring countries. WHO and CDC have travel warnings for the area.

I could not agree more, the math here isn't adding up.... 1000 cases?? wtf that doesn't even make sense, don't like 50,000 people die of common cold in the US every year?

Only 1000 cases so the Chinese govt decide to build a 1000 bed hospital in 6 days.

And that video with 3 corpses in 1 corridor in 1 hospital who all died that morning - and only 26 dead?

I think some zeroes need to be added to the end of those numbers.

i have stated it before and given the new information (especially out of china and IMO still lacking some key details) has ANYONE READ KINGS BOOK THE STAND?

lets refresh shall we?

first an accident at the lab that should not have happened.
the failure of detection and containment equipment with failure to stop someone fleeing the base.
how that person traveled to a small town , infected many people.
one infected was a state trooper that freely traveled out the area and no one knew he had even been there.
he spread it to people in a diner who traveled to different points in the us.

the military tried initial containment WITH ARMED FORCE.
they took people into "quarantine" for "their own good".
when initial containment failed they tried it again.
all the time downplaying in the press what was truly happening .
ANYONE who tried to find out and (worst of all) informed the public of what was going on were arrested, silenced and worst of all EXECUTED for "treason and revealing state secrets".
the public never knew how bad it was , given false hope , more martial law, breakdown of social order and at the end the ultimate ass covering of infecting the world so no one would know who was responsible.

now lets compare to this outbreak.

it has appeared .
the Chinese government released minimal information.
they claim very small cases and even smaller amount of deaths.
they have quarantined 3 cities (one of 11.8 MILLION) initially with (as reported by other sources than the government as I understand it) MILITARY force.
they are building a "hospital" in a week (an achievement great in and of itself) for the new cases
new cases are appearing in other countries.
USA (and others) are now doing more strict screening of travelers from china with some countries REFUSING ENTRY.
now China claims a relatively few more cases (infected and death) but add 8 MORE CITIES quarantined.

cases CONFIRMED in US are ISOLATED in medical facilities...
not cared for but (again as i understand it) STRICT MEDICAL ISOLATION.
with others being "monitored and tracked" (whatever that means/entails )

still no more info coming out of china, effective media blackout with info like "only" hundred deaths , no epidemic but we have quarantined 11 cities (by military force reported by others)

with more cases popping up daily and in more countries.


am I the only one seeing the similarities and being a tad more concerned if not frightened ?

One of these days, probably soon, a big like Ebola will develop a high virulence and stay suspended in the air long enough to matter. It too will have a 14+ day incubation period and it would spell the end of the world as we know it (major die off, not extinction level)

This does not appear to be that big. It has all the properties of a major epidemic, but mostly results in flu like symptoms

I have a feeling cases in the States will be milder, considering our vastly improved standards of life, doctor patient ratios etc

If we could only foster a culture of BSI wed be in the clear. Simple stuff, to. No face touching. Frequent hand washing. NO close contact with sick people for 10 days etc

Between China and Africa we have a lot of natural resvars (sp) to eliminate. They aren't leaving us much of a choice. Either they learn basic hygiene and sanitation or we do it for them. With fire.

As crazy as it sounds it appears they are doing something like that in China. Not necessarily crop-dusting, but I saw a vid where government workers were fumigating the streets. My guess it was with something like bleach or peroxide.
