Just wait! We are on ao collision course with Andromeda and will have a whole galaxy of stars aimed at us...

And n the do-see-do, it is mostly empty space instead of a mosh pit! We influence orbits, while our’s is also influenced, but it a “zero sum” game unless your mass is significantly bigger than the other.

Single star... *meh* for the most part. Like space rock, it hits us or it doesn’t.

Here is my pet belief: the solar system used to be part of another galaxy that the Milky Way absorbed. That is why the galactic plane is perpendicular to the solar system! Google: “we are the aliens” and the story is in space.com (or of those).

As Aristotle said, given a large enough lever...

PS - The vids look cool but will have to wait a bit. I do love crazy ideas!!

Ridiculous machine to think up. There's not enough metal in the solar system to make 25% of it I bet! I'd have used wood personally.

We would probably have a decade or more of warning.

More like tens of thousands, if not millions, of years. For a star. Relatively speaking, stars don't move that fast.
