exactly what BBC news said www.bbc.com... it goes over the winners and loosers but seems some what pessimistic

compare that to the hill article thehill.com...

Negotiations restarted in earnest over the summer when Trump reportedly told Chinese President Xi Jinping he would not raise the Hong Kong protests during discussions. Trump then announced in October the two sides had reached a deal; the White House announced two months later that only a Phase One pact had been reached. Kudlow suggested the end result was proof that Trump’s penchant for imposing tariffs had been effective, despite the unease of Democrats and many Republicans. “I think with China he was exactly right,” he said. “President Trump’s strategy was exactly right.”
also its a good example of how exactly the dems went out of the way to undermine him at every step of the way

2nd snippit

Critics of the agreement, such as Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), argued that the deal’s greatest achievement was pausing a trade war that Trump initiated.

“Though President Trump is touting this agreement as the ‘biggest ever,’ I believe the stunning lack of substance and long-term reform achieved will harm American workers and industry,” Schumer said Wednesday.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) panned the signing as a “showy television ceremony to try and hide the complete absence of concrete progress.”
so pelosi having the gall to be like look at him turning this into a showy signing when she pulled the stunt with impeachment and the stupid pens today lol , hopefully this means that stage two will get done in president Trumps 2nd term and we can all keep winning as a nation

Are you blind or just want to be a pain in the ass? Phase one was literally just signed... China is colonizing Africa building their work horse to secure their own middle class, and all you can think about is, what? I don't even know what your on about..

LOL. I wish them the best of luck in Africa. It hasn't really worked out for most interlopers in Africa.

Africa is attractive because of resources, but China can have it.

www.reuters.com... =facebook&fbclid=IwAR3eQYT79EuoiFcD_GEaQc0BUJ-pVAjXj7XDfxgXsEWpBqsfnhhzqP94Nsw and phase two already beginning

ASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Vice President Mike Pence said on Wednesday that discussions had already begun on a “Phase 2” U.S.-China trade deal, hours after Washington and Beijing signed an initial trade pact that defused some tensions but left some major issues unresolved. “We’ve already begun discussions on a Phase 2 deal,” Pence said in an interview with Fox Business Network. He gave no further details.

this is neither a win or a loss, this is china delaying things and giving face to the US, nothing has really started until after the election has happened and china knows who they will be dealing with.

Seems to make you upset... not me. I want humanity as whole to succeed, not just one imperial force, so you're thinking goes against mine honestly.

Ummm...so where do you start...really...?

It seems to me that opening the markets in China...and leveling the trade playing field...between the worlds two largest markets...is how one might start...

It’s prolly what I would do...a free and fair trade deal with every nation that wishes to ride the coattails...of prosperity...into some shared equality future...NOT...based in socialism...

But wait...I don’t have to...it’s already being done...and the progs are being dragged kicking and screaming along for the ride...

So...buckle up...buttercup...

Actually from what I have read it is 288 Billion over two years that China will be buying...

Let us hope phase two gets signed rather sooner than later.

I knew when I posted this article there would be those who would come along with nothing but disparaging remarks, cause Trump and the USA can not do anything to please them..

I am almost interested in seeing what MSN or CNN in America has to say about the deal but I do not want to rot my brain with their drivel/fake news opinion pieces...

I can think of several segments of the US economy that are sighing a sigh of relief and hoping this is the first step of sitting things straight with our trade deficit with China. China can be a great trading partner as long as one realizes they are not our friends and will take advantage of any weakness in any contract an probably even cheat if no one is looking !! hahah

I heard today it was a major event when President Nixon went to China and signed nothing. What President Trump signed Wednesday was historic and meaningful, compared to Nixon's photo op.

And that was my biggest take away from yesterday.

Trumps base is going to see the China deal as a victory. Most especially those who have been torn between their natural predisposition to supporting a Trump presidency and being adversely impacted by the tariffs; they now have a reason to give Trump the benefit of the doubt come election time.

The Democrat base will see the fact that the president is now "impeached for life" as a victory. They now have something to gloat about during political discussions at family get togethers.

More independent and moderate minded people will be suspicious of both happenings. They will wonder if the trade deal is just a political maneuver or at the very least an attempt at good policy. They will wonder if Trump deserves to be "impeached for life" or if the Democrats are just insufferable children. Unfortunately for the Democrats that dichotomy puts them some where between being "ineffective and insufferable children" while it puts Trump somewhere between "Attempting good policy and ineffective". That does not bode well for the Democrats moving into an election year.

Trump: "Elect me, I spent the last 3 years at least trying to advance US/China trade even if I failed in the end"

Democrats: "Elect me, I spent the last 3 years at least trying to remove Trump from office even if I failed in the end"

Put your self in the mind of a moderate; standing in an election booth; trying to decide between the "best of two evils" ... yesterday was not good for Democrats.

The two biggest topics at the onset of this, the perception is easily seen as one of obstruction the Presidents ability and partially failing, while the other is a President doing everything in his ability to pursue fair trade advancement and coming off partially successful.

Me pointing out the truth doesnt make me a 'fan', but I also dont ignore how oblivious most Americans are to how they themselves got into this situation and whine and complain when it all came into reality.
Did it really take trump to tell people that the working class got screwed by the plutocrats behind past governments?
And now you need daddy government to save you, you seriously cant preach to me about how china was dabbling in unfair trade deals while the citizens were and are part of the problem.
