US-China Phase One Deal Signed: What Is Inside and What to Expect Next ?

This is something that should make many international markets happy as it takes the certainty out of what the future holds.

This article does not bring up that the tariffs on Chinese goods which have been cut in half to (7.5%?)until phase two is signed which is already being worked on. IMO this is good news especially about the amount of goods and services China has agreed to buy.. .

US President Donald Trump and Chinese Vice-Premier Liu He on Wednesday signed Phase One of a trade agreement between the two nations, after a lengthy trade war which sowed uncertainty on international markets and slowed the outlook of world economic growth.

"During the two-year period from January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2021, China shall ensure that purchases and imports into China from the United States of the manufactured goods, agricultural goods, energy products, and services identified in Annex 6.1 exceed the corresponding 2017 baseline amount by no less than $200 billion", the text of the agreement reads.

The agreement said China will ensure that it buys $32.9 billion worth of US manufactured goods this year and $44.8 billion in 2021; $12.5 billion in US agricultural goods this year and $19.5 billion in 2021; $18.5 billion in US energy products this year and $33.9 billion in 2021; and $12.8 billion in US services this year and $25.1 billion in 2021.

Market sold off today on the trade deal.. doesnt really mean anything really yet but it wasnt the blast off I was expecting...

The Chinese delegation also praised the pact. Chinese leader Xi Jinping said in a letter to Trump that the first-phase deal was “good for China, for the U.S. and for the whole world.” He said it also showed the two countries had the ability to “act on the basis of equality and mutual respect.” The letter was read by Beijing’s chief negotiator, Vice Premier Liu He.

Would Trump say such humble words to describe something that would benefit everyone?

It also comes at a massive cost, this trade war with such a giant who has their new business sights not on feeding the American consumerist economy, but building their own middle class really care about Trumps ongoing heavily subsidized agrarian aggression, and suppression?

China knows that tariffs are the only way the United States can level the field with cheap Chinese labor.

Phase one has been signed, if they wanted to buy time and wait, they wouldn't have committed to the signing.

Trump is strangling their economy and it doesn't have any time to wait, a doomed strategy even the Chinese wouldn't touch.

It is a good thing, not perfect but a start. To put thing in perspective Obama beat Hillary over the head with NAFTA in 2008. Go watch the videos. He did zero in eight years about it. He didn't even entertain doing something about it and nobody said a word.

Doesn't matter though. The people responded. He lost both houses and his shoe in replacement got smoked out.

Okay, so you're just an emotional mess, cut the BS out and focus on the convo, Phase One trade deal was SIGNED, we need new and ironed out issues involving the worlds largest economies.
