Canada was once one of the major powers that were ahead of everyone at the time, guess what happened? Gov hijacked and sold Canadians out to US. Look at Europe today. You know who is hoarding all the freaking tech(bailouts and buyouts). Japan got screwed over under economic warfare.

I don't know, they were involved in decades long war with a Japanese invasion, a bloody civil war/communist revolution, and they've bloodied their hands in Korea, Sino-Indian War in the 60's, and more incursions and clashes at the border than can be counted with India, Bhutan, Russia, etc, etc

Good catch!

Some...I repeat some...have an operationally offensive directed capability against other satellites. It doesn't take much firepower to disable a satellite. But we play defense with our offense, so to speak.

It makes perfect sense.

Would you launch a $1B+ hunk of satellite hardware into space and give it *no* capability to defend itself against an enemy sat intent on destroying it?

That would not be just dumb...that would be insane.

We're not the only nation with sats in orbit. And alliances shift.

Wonder what China wants to do with all of then then? I think the SCS clashes that are always in the news are just cover for something else

perhaps the 'base' is the training areas for creating a living quarters colony on the Mars desert landscape

maybe mr. E musk is engaged in some way
