Jumping to conclusions already, eh?

It's pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain her Twitter was being managed by someone with a higher grammatical ability than a 16 year old child... But not much.

It's a good thing you have Fox News to rely upon when it comes to not debunking those statements on her fckbook page. WTF?
Actually a simple Google search debunks most of what is on that Twitter page.

It shouldn't matter who posts them in case you ever had a point to make, any point whatsoever.
Actually it does when you use a mentally challenged child as a shield from criticism.

Keep shooting the messengers, idiots! You need more rope to hang yourselves with?

Keep pretending the people who are telling us we only have 12 years left actually know what they are talking about.

As I said, morbid curiosity. Are you going to wax poetic or will you answer the simple question directly?

I work for care international UK.Dont see why it matters.

You have several times attempted to silence me (because, as you've come right out and said several times, you equate someone ceasing conversation with them being defeated in an argument) by using some variant "you don't understand the technical/science" or "this is too technical for you to understand." You just admitted that as your career you work for a group that fights poverty. Good for you, by the way, admirable career... I'm a Civil Engineer. I have a bachelors degree and am 3 credit hours from a Masters degree in Civil Engineering. I have minors in math and macroeconomics and was 2 credit hours away from minors in both physics and geology thanks to the electives I gravitated towards in my degree. I have been working in the engineering field for nearly 2 decades, designing infrastructure including coastal infrastructure that relies heavily on sea level data. You're right, I am not a climatologist... I don't deal in Magic 8 ball voodoo to try to predict tomorrow's weather patterns, I deal in cold, hard data. I can tell you the sea levels have NOT risen over the past 50 years, the datums used have changed. That is a FACT which my industry depends heavily on. We have not had to raise profile grades on coastal roads due to sea level rise, yes, erosion is a problem but coastal erosion has been happening for eons and is not due to climate change but, rather, basic wave action and tides. You earlier tried to say I didn't understand what I was talking about when I mentioned the heat capacity of concrete and asphalt... an amazing accusation to make against someone who has spent a career having to analyse and select mixture ratios and structural sections for roadway designs and paved site designs which, if I didn't know what I was doing, would cost me my license and my company millions in the ensuing lawsuits and legal actions.

Let me educate you for a moment, actually educate you... not fill your impressionable head with patchouli scented platitudes like you receive at your little leftist glee parties where you practice your 5 minute hate directed at industry and shed tears over faked reports that CO2 is a boogeyman and we should all reject the evolutions which have brought us here to a world of gas powered motors and electric lights. The ocean is constantly in flux. There is an oceanic jet stream which gyrates around the globe, not staying in a single place. The ocean receives runoff from rivers and streams, and from municipal drainage systems (which hey, I've also designed). More pavement equals not only more runoff than greenfield, but it also means the runoff is directly in contact with the heat sinks that are concentrating thermal energy, warming the runoff considerably. This then reaches the ocean where it also increases the temperatures. Ocean water is not homogeneous, it exists in strata that are defined by salinity and temperature. Salt water is denser than clear water and cold water is more dense than warmer water. As a result, the hotter runoff doesn't mix well or quickly with the ocean water. It sits on top of the ocean water, slowly integrating with the brinier, colder water below it. The ocean temperaturs you are using as a backbone to your argument are taken at the surface of the ocean and, often, near the outfall of rivers that have collected a high degree of runoff from paved areas. This is science, and it is science that I know not only better than you do, but better than most climatologists because it directly impacts what I do for my livelyhood.

You can continue to argue these points with me if you wish, but if you opt to include some degree of "you don't know what you're talking about" in that argument, then you'll look like a fool. Where this science is concerned, your arms are too damn short to box with god, friend.

Again, you exhibit the usual partisan nonsense i've been reading on every thread you grace.

You blindly defend your radical left wing stance on everything without ever using logic, reasoning or facts.

I honestly have more constructive debates with my 10 year old.

If you cant handle the truth just keep your simplistic drivel to yourself please.

Trumps to blame for this, trumps to blame for that, you only have an opinion because trump gives it to you, blah blah blah.

Only one person on this thread is showing signs of brainwashing by an ideology pushed by public figures, just look in the mirror and stop being a walking contradiction.

You were wrong about Greenpeace, you were wrong about Greenpeace. What more can a say? You do not like being wrong, and that's your main problem.

But do you know what! I do not care! My wife's been diagnosed with cancer, and I just cannot be bothered with people like you at the moment!

You would need a degree in law and finance to make head or tail of Greenpeace international accounts, just because one person backed you up and cherry picked one arm of the organisation doesn't make me wrong. I listed many many many problems i see with Greenpeace. Rather conveniently you have yet to refute the accusations i made or the French expose i provided.

I've admitted many times i'm wrong, in fact i offered you a full public apology on this forum for my behaviour and reducing myself to slander. An apology which you rejected, showing me everything i need to know about your stubborn character.

That thread is still open, if you wish to discuss it further then i'll be happy to continue, it has no relevance to this topic tho?

Sorry to hear about your wife, i hope she recovers, i will pray for her.

Interesting because 90%+ of the man-made climate change adherents are progressive socialists or flat-out communists!

Hmmmm, you might be on to something here. . . . Comrade!

Oh do you know it's 90%, or was thst the first number that came into hour head. One thing about you people, is you never actually back up anything you say with evidence, why is that? You just throw random BS and random numbers out there as if that some how proves your point.

Oh, and I gurentee, if Trump came out tomorrow and said the earth was flat, just like climate change threads, we would see a huge increase in pro flat earther threads!

The guy is just a bloody human bring! Yes, a high function sociopathic idiot, but still a human! Not the new Jesus, or Moses, as some idiots think on here!

I'd like to see your credentials for making such a diagnosis.

Oh come on! He shows all the traits of a high functioning sociopath. Here is a quick list.

1. Failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors.
2. Deceitfulness, as indicated by repeated lying … or conning others for personal profit or pleasure
3. Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead
4. Irritability and aggressiveness
5. Reckless disregard for safety of self or others.
6. Consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations
7. Lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another.

He is a high functioning sociopath, like most people in positions of power!

I see no credentials stating you are a licensed professional, nor do I see anything to indicate that you've had direct contact with the patient to make such a diagnosis.

Of course you don't! You are a trump fanatic, so why would you see them?

Since we're playing armchair psychologists, your replies in this thread border on hysteria. Do you experience selective amnesia, display shallow volatile emotions, or exhibit overdramatic or attention-seeking behavior?

And when looking for fanaticism, do not exclude your own posts.

It's been almost a year since the "wave of civil disobedience" was advertised as the one last chance to force changes. www.abovetopsecret.com... Did it work? Did changes happen? Were you just as full of it then as you are now? Can you acknowledge that for the past 2 decades all we've heard about is how we are months/a handful of years away from the point of no return and a cliff face, and while CO2 emissions have continued to climb and no changes have happened, we've still utterly failed to find that imaginary cliff while the AGW cult has just conveniently hit the reset button on the start date of "18 months til we cross the point of no return! Doom! Doom!" dire warnings time after time after time?

It's all bullcrap, unadulterated bullcrap geared to play off a combination of mankind's unconscious adoration for the perpetual state of personal anxiety and weak mindedness that leads people into cults to begin with.

The predictions have failed. Bright futures and prosperity of mankind won, your doom failed. You can continue to push that rock like Sisyphus for the rest of your life or you can snap out of your brainwashed stupor and lead a happy and productive life... your call. I have made my choice.

Holy f***! Wait! I'm that guy now? That's a famous thread?

Augustus, in case you see this:
ask me anything - anytime you want! About time - The Infamous!

Aaaanyhow. Thanks for that, burd. Newsflash: 2019 saw millions of "middle class people" hit the streets to f***ing protest. Leave your mark and leave me alone with Greta, this is pathetic.

It's all bullcrap, unadulterated bullcrap

Which is why you counter alleged loads of unadulterated bullcrap with the kinda adulterated bullcrap you guys keep piling up in threads like this? The irony! Woke AF, I tell ya!

Here's a hint: epistemology is not their "handler", it's their voice. You get that, right? Right?

...

Right?

Well. You're definitely the better spindoc with all "your" AIE inspired myths compared to "her" f***book feed. No, it's fine - keep the pun, you'll need it. Butter by the fishes, is there anything in your post that hasn't been debunked in that infamous XR thread? I don't think so, prove me wrong?

Sincerely yours
The f***ing infamous

Why don't you check how long I have been using these bloody forums! In thst time I have lost debates, and had my mind changed!

You you think I may have turned around and said my wife has cancer, just because of a bloody debate! The last few days have been hard for me and my daughter!

I was not even going to post on this site for a while, but after reading your post, I had to post!

Sorry, I do not take this site as serious as you, so I am not going to make up horrible things, just to get out of a debate!

This "agenda" was allowed to gain so much traction because in this wonderful age of information, people don't research or delve any deeper than FB Insta & Twitter with an occasional nod to the tabloids. So much at their fingertips and people have become lazier than ever before. Indignation outrage and horror last seconds before the next drama comes along to infect their thought processes...briefly. We are bombarded with information & images constantly online to the point where it just seems like too much hard work and all rather pointless to actually research the facts as come tomorrow, it will be ancient history just like Greta or the Las Vegas Shooter or Epstein

You can call it "information overload" like this article does:

“By clever and persevering use of propaganda even heaven can be represented as hell to the people, and conversely the most wretched life as paradise.”—ADOLF HITLER, MEIN KAMPF.

AS MEANS of communicating have expanded—from printing to the telephone, radio, television, and the Internet—the flow of persuasive messages has dramatically accelerated. This communications revolution has led to information overload, as people are inundated by countless messages from every quarter. Many respond to this pressure by absorbing messages more quickly and accepting them without questioning or analyzing them.

The cunning propagandist loves such shortcuts—especially those that short-circuit rational thought. Propaganda encourages this by agitating the emotions, by exploiting insecurities, by capitalizing on the ambiguity of language, and by bending rules of logic. As history bears out, such tactics can prove all too effective.
...

You can also see some excellent examples of the effectiveness of these tactics on the Origins & Creationism forum, where they are also used or how they have affected people is demonstrated regularly (especially one of the examples given on the page above that falls under the heading "Playing on the Emotions", referred to there as a reverse appeal to pride that plays on our fear of seeming stupid; the tactic of "Name-Calling" is sometimes also involved).

Source: The Manipulation of Information (Awake!—2000)

It gives some useful tips regarding this phenomenon of information overload on the next page:

“A fool will believe anything.”—PROVERBS 14:15, TODAY’S ENGLISH VERSION.

...
Propagandists ... sift the facts, exploiting the useful ones and concealing the others. They also distort and twist facts, specializing in lies and half-truths. Your emotions, not your logical thinking abilities, are their target.

The propagandist makes sure that his message appears to be the right and moral one and that it gives you a sense of importance and belonging if you follow it. You are one of the smart ones, you are not alone, you are comfortable and secure—so they say.

How can you protect yourself from the types of people that the Bible calls “profitless talkers” and “deceivers of the mind”? (Titus 1:10) Once you are familiar with some of their tricks, you are in a better position to evaluate any message or information that comes your way. Here are some ways to do this.

Be selective: A completely open mind could be likened to a pipe that lets just anything flow through it—even sewage. No one wants a mind contaminated with poison. Solomon, a king and educator in ancient times, warned: “Anyone inexperienced puts faith in every word, but the shrewd one considers his steps.” (Proverbs 14:15) So we need to be selective. We need to scrutinize whatever is presented to us, deciding what to accept and what to reject.

However, we do not want to be so narrow that we refuse to consider facts that can improve our thinking. How can we find the right balance? By adopting a standard with which to measure new information. ...
...
Put information to the test: “Beloved ones,” said John, a first-century Christian teacher, “do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions.” (1 John 4:1) Some people today are like sponges; they soak up whatever they come across. It is all too easy to absorb whatever is around us.

But it is far better for each individual personally to choose what he will feed his mind. It is said that we are what we eat, and this can apply to food for both the body and the mind. No matter what you are reading or watching or listening to, test to see whether it has propagandistic overtones or is truthful.

Moreover, if we want to be fair-minded, we must be willing to subject our own opinions to continual testing as we take in new information. We must realize that they are, after all, opinions. Their trustworthiness depends on the validity of our facts, on the quality of our reasoning, and on the standards or values that we choose to apply.
...

Source: Do Not Be a Victim of Propaganda! (Awake!—2000)

Both pieces of advice summarized in my signature and text under my profilename. I skipped the following paragraphs:

Use discernment: (which speaks about how we can use discernment to recognize those who are merely using “smooth talk and complimentary speech” in order to “seduce the hearts of guileless ones.”(Romans 16:18) And that discernment enables you to discard irrelevant information or misleading facts and distinguish the substance of a matter. Among other things.)

Ask questions: (which speaks about those who would like to ‘delude us with persuasive arguments.’ (Colossians 2:4) Among other things.)

And...

Do not just follow the crowd: (which warns that popular opinion is not a reliable barometer of truth. Among other things.)

One shouldn't be surprised that someone like Greta Thunberg is used as a propaganda tool, after all, as both sides probably often reason to themselves to justify their own use of propaganda: 'the other side is doing it as well.'

Which sounds a bit like the schoolyard argument: 'but he started it first.' Or the more 'adult' expression (and I'm using 'adult' loosely): 'they started the fight, I'm just finishing it.'

Those defending the use of Greta as a propaganda tool would definitely be correct in reasoning to themselves that the other side is doing it as well. Fox News specializes in political propaganda. But that doesn't really make it right to do it yourselves as well, or condone or even defend the practice and modus operandi. Perhaps reasoning as if it's the only or best counter, or even just an effective legitimate counter.

Much like prejudice, the best counter to propaganda is a good education that values honesty. Good educators present all sides of an issue and encourage discussion. Propagandists relentlessly force you to hear their view and discourage discussion. As The World Book Encyclopedia says, in a climate where ideas circulate freely, “propaganda differs from education.” Many 'educators' have already forgotten this in universities and research establishments, especially in the field of evolutionary biology (coming back to those examples I referred to in my previous comment that can be seen on the Origins & Creationism forum).

Talking about prejudice and coming back to the topic of...

Pride. In the form of inordinate self-esteem or haughtiness, pride can make a person more susceptible to prejudice. For example, pride can cause a person to be prone to feelings of superiority or disdain toward the less educated or the materially poor. It may also make him inclined to believe propaganda that elevates his national, political, ideological or ethnic group. Clever propagandists, such as Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, have deliberately nurtured national and racial pride to rally the support of the masses and to malign those considered to be different or undesirable.

What does the Bible say? “[Do] nothing out of contentiousness or out of egotism, but with lowliness of mind [consider] that the others are superior to you.” (Philippians 2:3) Ask yourself: ‘Do I take secret delight in flattering comments about my own race or ethnic or political group or in disparaging remarks about others?

Yes, for good reason the Bible cautions: “More than all else that is to be guarded, safeguard your heart, for out of it are the sources of life.” (Proverbs 4:23) So view your heart as truly precious, and let nothing corrupt it! Instead, fill it with godly wisdom. Then, and only then, will ‘thinking ability and discernment safeguard you, to deliver you from the bad way, from the person speaking perverse things.’—Proverbs 2:10-12.

When we get to know people on a personal level, we more readily see through misleading stereotypes.

When you put your eggs in greta thunbergs basket you've basically aligned yourself with an emotional kneejerk reaction to align yourself with popular culture because you see that it has a big following and you want to tag along to feel good about your input into saving the planet. When all you've done is align yourself with a child who doesn't attend school and is demanding to the world that everyone align with her belief system.

There's a term for this and people fall for it constantly, its called the cult of personality. give your heads a shake and ditch the emotional response.
