They had to do this so, moving forward, when there is no war with Iran and the public begins to say "wow, President Trump actually took out one of the most violent, dangerous men in the region and Iran flinched and did nothing against us" the Dems can sweep in and claim THEIR resolution secured peace and ties President Trump's hands, avoiding escalation in the region.

Not really, the resolution was a STATEMENT resolution only. Meaning it was a vote to lecture the President but doesn't change a thing. Nancy says she chose to do it this way because she didn't want to give Trump the pleasure of vetoing it and rendering it worthless anyway. In essence, it just allowed the Dems to grandstand and continue their substance free dog and pony show.

And, ultimately, what are those lives taken for? Some stupid temporary situation, until the next guy repeats the same and does it all over again?

Islamic terrorism will never be a temporary situation. Regardless of what we do, they will always continue and use someone else as an excuse for doing so. That's just how they operate.

One thing it did accomplish was the fighting remained in the sandbox instead of in the United States itself. 9/11 was not going to be the end it was just the beginning of the attacks that were coming. However US troops being in the middle east kept the violence over there. I personally would say its much better having them attack armed personnel than blow up a football stadium or a mall. There goal was to create maximum terror in the US hoping it would collapse the govt.

The only language Islamists understand is death & violence. Islam has been at war with the rest of the world since its inception & will continue to be at war with the rest of the world as long as it exists & the teachings of Mohammed are followed. Killing a top Islamist military general is the only deterent Islamists understand. Trump is our top general (commander & chief of the U.S. military). We've been in WWIII since September 11th 2001. This incident is nothing new in the War on Terror a.k.a. the War on Islam. Islam has been at war with the rest of the world since 600AD.

So, in your opinion, we should also stop going after murderers? Because every time one is put behind bars, there's always ten more committing murders after him. That is what you're saying, you can't deny it. What you're saying does not work. We have to keep trying to stop terrorists and murderers. They don't understand that one thing that will get we Americans to band together in solidarity is an attack. 9/11 proved that even as divided as we can be by our political ideals, no one had better try to take us down. It's like the sibling thing where they can torture each other but will not allow an outsider to mess with either one.

Believe me, in 9 months when the President's campaign correctly identifies this as a victory for the US under his command and points at how the world is down a major terrorist and zero escalation resulted from that killing, the Dems will point at this resolution and Pelosi may well burst a silicone bag trying to pat herself on the back and taking credit for "stopping Trump's attempts to cause war." That's how those asses have operated in the past, no reason to expect them to change course now.

We should absolutely go after these murderers, as individuals.

Applying some vague label of "terrorist" and then attacking everyone to which you apply the label, is not dealing with the actual perpetrators of the crime.

It diffuses the truth of getting these guys and suddenly you start fighting wars over people who have never killed any Americans (and probably couldn't even if the wanted), while the actual perpetrators of crimes go free.
