Many thanks for the link to that article. I love Noam Chomsky.
I sincerely hope people on all sides of the political spectrum take a look at that.

The same can be said about conservatives.

I see quite a few people posting the same links to the same conservative articles on facebook. It's like the Republicans all get their talking points for the day in the morning. Like a cult trying to spread the word.

OMG! You were the one in here screaming about ORANGE MAN starting a war with Iran, and I told you this was standard media operating practice to scare monger about it, that there would be no war, so relax.

And *you* think *I'm* upset?!

Whatever drugs you're on must be good.

You guys were the people gung-ho about bombing and invading another country. While actually trying to convince me that the citizens would drop to their knees and praise us for lobbing rockets into their neighborhoods.

Oh how quick you guys try to shift and change the narrative to erase your blatant warmongering and blind faith in a con-man as a leader.

Thank God there might not be war with Iran. You trying to use that as political ammunition against your perceived enemies shows just how far around the bend you right wingers have gone.

And that’s pretty much it.

So it looks like the answer is “No. We’re not upset that our leftist leaders and news outlets intentionally lie to us every single day because Orange Man Bad”

What is "Plausible" about your speculation?

Which Republican Senator(s) pressured Trump?

I'll wait for your evidence.

What I find depressing is that the different schools of thought on each subject and issue are so markedly different that it does look like two different worlds, and each side accuses the other of lying.

No ... it's just radically different ideas about how to handle each situation.

But if we've gotten that far apart, how on earth do we get back together?

Evidence? Fella, I'm not here to argue, I'm here to entertain conspiracies.
My conspiracy is that Trump is an over inflated goofball who garnered enough support from enough conservative voters to over-ride the established Republican power structure. My theory is that he did not destroy it but rather has been, thinking that he is doing it all himself, allowing cover for their agenda that they have been striving for for years. My theory continues that they are allowing him to continue to be their ''face'' just as long as he does not go to far. Getting us into a shooting war in the middle east is going to far and they have told him flat out, settle down big boy or we will turn the wolves loose on you.

You want evidence? Look around at some of my other posts in this thread where people want to discuss rather than challenge stuff they don't want to hear and you will find it there.

I don't feel embarrassed. I don't care who is in office. I just think our country should not be a puppet of Israel. We should use diplomacy not the military. I'm generally sick and tired war is the only answer mentality regardless of which party is serving Israel.

Anti-Israel, eh??? Should we abandon Britain, or Australia, or just the Countries that muzlims hate???

Oh, and you think we should fight road side bombs, suicide bombers, attacks on our embassies, de-heading Christians around the world with diplomacy??? Maybe if we give them 150 billion bucks or so they would calm down???

You guys are too funny...

This has nothing to do with Israel, this has everything to do with Iran's religious leaders declaring war on the United States in 1979 and the small-stage attacks since. When they used Soleimani's upgraded IEDs to kill hundreds of our soldiers it should have been game-on right then. But we know who were our presidents during those times, right? Once the intel was right and they knew where Soleimani was, what he was doing to our embassy, the general contractor that was killed and the plans he was making of causing much more death and destruction to us and our allies, it was time to take him out.

There is nothing in the liberal mindset that can argue that point. Nothing. What is disturbing is the Left's reaction to it and their actual support of Iran. It's sickening. To put that terrorist regime over our soldiers and citizens is almost as low as one can get. It should be criminal.

Remember this is the same mindset that awarded a Pulitzer to the NYT correspondent to the USSR who flat out ignored the Ukrainian famine in his eagerness to report about how awesome communism was.

Pretty sure war with Iran is going to happen regardless of any outcome this week / upcoming weeks. This has been in the books for a long time.

What do you base that on? I'm pretty sure you will be wrong.

That was one hell of a Libertarian propaganda hit piece, no bias brainwashing there, LOL. Why should conservatives bother reading an article from a Libertarian socialist anti Trumper who has his nose buried far up the lefts wahzoo?

You don't get it, do you? The Iranian you just Hashashined away with 50 other people was actually fighting ISIS as well. Can't say he didn't protect some Christians even if he didn't want to, what's your point?

You guys are too funny...

I know, right? And all the irony in this Forever War... priceless!
Wait! Is this real or is it one of my more absurd dreams again? You tell me!

Why though? It doesn't appear to happen in any other advanced democracies and is limited to the US and the developing world.

In most countries people are skeptical of anything any politician, government PR/spin/propaganda announcement or press organisation say and don't pick a side.

As an outsider looking in, it's really alien and pretty unnerving to see a small percentage, but significant amount of people treat it as infantile 'my Dad is harder than your Dad' playground politics.

If, as you say, it's propaganda, then prove his points wrong. Go right ahead and walk us back through history and refute what he said, point by point, with valid sources. I can guarantee you Chomsky has done his research and could provide source after source (no, not Fox or CNN). Can you?

Chomsky has PO'd plenty of people on the right and the left over the years. He's a dissident. The establishment doesn't like him. The press doesn't like him. Why? He dares to ask tough questions and he dares to point out things they don't want to hear.

So why should a conservative OR a liberal bother reading his article? Why indeed. It might just challenge their comfort zone a little too much. It might--horror of all horrors--make them THINK.

It certainly does appear that way. 4 pages of the usual deflection and spin. The usual suspects pretending not to be leftists so pretending this doesn't apply to them. No attempt to address the substance of the OP.

What a bunch of #in cowards. These people really do live in another world.
