Hmm, he is flip flopping a little here.

Blaming the past administration for the attack on the base?

Weird, weird, speech...

I think, he just emboldened Iran.

I was sat here thinking ''wtf is wrong with his voice and breathing'' ? he is slurring too.

I don't think he slurred, but his breathing sounds labored or something seems to be going on.

Because Trump has been such a good ally...

I'm not able to watch this right now, but is he specifying what kind of sanctions we're looking at? Are they going to be economic in nature or are we talking about the mainly symbolic kind?

I was replying to another poster so ...yes.

I haven't commented on the events so far because honestly I don't feel qualified, and seeing the back and forth with everyone is enough.

Nice move Trump!

Seek peace, embrace peace.

All you gotta do now is wait for another Iranian attack, and then you almost got the green light to go bananas in the ME.

Well played

true
it is almost as if he actually has a plan.....

"Iranian Tourists" (terrorists)

"Tolerighted" (tolerated).

Sedatives?

But all the leftist and those who hold water for them screamed Trump is starting WW3.

Seriously, go back to the thread where we were following the attack, look at all those posters, lol 🤣😂🤣😂

Very embarrassing.

Just as many people on the right were cheering it on (full blown conflict with Iran).

That's the problem.

Everyone draws lines and goes to the extremes.

Moral of the story, we should all be happy.... For now. I'm happy with sanctions and hope things don't escelate.

Problem is, dogmatic partisans will tow lines and hold face no matter what happens.

trump is not the ally
the usa is
trump is the leader of the usa
you not being able to separate such IS PART OF THE PROBLEM
as to the sanctions we will see

the no nuke policy was solid
much more so than any world leader I can remember

the only interesting point of the 9 minute speech was in the final 30 seconds when Trump offered the Iran leadership the deal to unite forces against a common enemy ----->

That common Enemy being ISIS caliphate

lets see if that idea has any Legs with the MSM in the USA

Your wishful thinking doesn't translate to reality.

Basically showing how Iran has been aggressive for 4 decades and no other administration has done anything to thwart that, but rather prop it up, and his administration has taken hard steps, killed terrorist, etc. Scripted.

At least he showed restraint, a semblance of leadership, and didn't try to make things worse through increased military action.

For that I am thankful and give him credit.

I think he might be fighting a cold or something so he might be taking something.

BUT, I'm just glad he is choosing to de escalate.

The usual suspects will call Trump a coward.

I am waiting for that to happen.
I wish this was in the Mud Pit.

To the actual topic....
No escalation from our side for the moment is outstanding news.
Nobody wants to see Iran destroyed completely.
The days of Obama’s bowing and shuffling are over.

Not letting your friends take advantage of you anymore doesn't make you a bad friend. You need to read something besides propaganda.

I’d say fighting the urge to go on a string of expletives so long and colorful that would sound like the Emergency Broadcast Signal if they tried to bleep it out.

Only nato, country that may help us with Iran, is the UK. I am guessing they won’t be happy about it. France, Germany, lol not so much..

Let’s not forget, the French, are still in the nuclear deal with Iran.

🤷‍♂️ It’s bizarro world.

If you were crying and screeching about WW3, you just took a credibility hit, HARD.

If you were convinced that WW3 was going to happen because of one response, you're a fool.

This was an enlightening experience for all of us, something to dissect and review.

So, in a nutshell...

Iranian General of quds instigated protest by iranian backed militia that resulted in the death of an American and injured other Americans.

They ransacked and destroyed an embassy.

US response was swift and quick, effectively taking out the second most powerful man in Iran.

US: 1 Iran: 0

Iran responds with a fruitless bid in a vain attempt at "revenge" attacks, most relegated to a tantrum.
No US forces killed, no direct damage to any US installation.

Purpose of the attack was to provoke the US into further actions.

Trump called their bluff and didn't engage.

US: 2 Iran: 0

There will be no war as Iranian response was nothing more than an expensive tantrum that resulted in ZERO American deaths and no further actions are being considered.

US: 3 Iran: 0

Back to work folks.
