They invited the NTSB and Boeing to send representatives.

...AFTER they buried all the evidence, placed the back boxes in an nuclear centrifuge for 12 hours, tossed the hard drives in a steel blast furnace for a few hours and then ran over the remaining slag a few times with a bulldozer.

C'mon over!

This plane that was shot down - it was Ukrainian, correct? Let's hope that there were no Ukrainians aboard who could have been potential witnesses in any trial that could spring up over wrongdoing that might have occured in Ukraine.

It should be pretty easy to find out. Of the 11 Ukrainians on board, nine were crew.

Updates from multiple sources:

Russia, France, Ukraine, and Canada have all offered to decode the data recorders. The recorders are being evaluated today to determine if they need special equipment to download them.

Ukraine says that the last communication with the pilot was calm and routine, with no indication of any problems.

Iran says the cause of the crash will be released tomorrow. They deny a missile was involved, and say they're reviewing data to determine the cause of the fire. The full report could take two years.

It's been on multiple aviation sites. Ukraine is examining terrorism in the form of a bomb, or a missile. They are waiting to get seats from the aircraft for testing to look for explosive residue.

We lost several tankers and crews, including the only KC-10 lost, to fuel tank explosions. They happen. Thankfully they're exceedingly rare.

I don't doubt they happen just that investigation just always seemed a bit odd and off for some reason with me.

I heard so many theories by people that didn't know what they were talking about that it wasn't funny.
