Depending on the missile they'd fire them in pairs to be sure.

Those poor people never stood a chance.

The commercial airlines should really stop flying their aircraft over areas where combat is or could occur. Especially if there are so many anti-aircraft weapons around.

I have heard reported (on the BBC) that the talk is of a Russia-built Tor M-1 surface-to-air missile system, so that confirms SA-15 from my limited knowledge of missiles and systems.

If this is true, then Iran has a problem. I wonder if this is the reason why Iran have stopped their action against the US. Mistakes like this tend to defuse the feeling of righteousness.

Anyone notice the person flying through the scene right after the fireball?
ETA: Maybe it isn't a person, but it sure looks like one when watching in regular speed.

What if the U.S thought it was a Iranian bomber taking off and shot it down?

If the US could pull this off then Iran should just give up now.

We are analyzing this new video supposedly showing a mid-air explosion. By our initial estimation, the video shows an apartment block in western Parand (35.489414, 50.906917), facing northeast. This perspective is directed approximately towards the known trajectory of #PS752.

By measuring the time that it took for the camera to hear the explosion, we estimated the distance of the event (red circle), and cross-referenced it with the geolocation of the video and the flight trajectory of #PS752 (taken from from FlightRadar24).

Iran went on a global weapons shopping spree after the Obama Administration released the billions of dollars to them in 2015/2016.

Then that would be impressive as hell considering the missile would have had to have been fired before the aircraft took off. It's several hundred miles just to the Iraq border. The aircraft was airborne less than 5 minutes.
