Good topic.
Well Im a teen and male and straight. So that being said there is only Straight or Gay for guys no grey area inbetween (although there is a metro fad
going around Im not apart of). And being a gay guy will be looked down upon by most. But for Girls and especially teens Bi is an accepted practice. I
even heard that in some schools lesbianism is so rampant that they cant let girls go to the bathroom together.

This is not true. Many guys do it and tell no one. Ever heard of dont ask, dont tell?
I wish it was more acceptable for guys to be more open about their sexuality because they are the ones who are mostly responsible for spreading STDs
to girls. It is close to impossible for a girl to get AIDS from another girl.

Thats not true. All you need to transmit HIV/AIDS is an open cut to mix with any bodily fluids. If you have a cut in your mouth, a simple kiss can
lead to HIV transmission. Cuts on hands, skin, WHEREVER. The the possible ways the bodily fluid is transmitted may be different, theres still enough
risk.

Alright so its possible, still the number one way it is spread is from gay(2 men) sex. And the number one way it is spread to women is from bisexual
men. Many of those men do not disclose their sexual history, largely because of the social stigma with gay men.

though it is true that in the western world, homosexuals hold the highest count of AIDS transmission, it is not true that bisexuals are the primary
reason for transmission to women. Coming in a close second to homosexuals are drug users. 201,326 of the reported cases of AIDS infection in 2002 was
from those who inject and share needles, and 90,131 of those reported got it from plain heterosexual contact. Bisexuality is not the major factor in
AIDS transmission in America. (CDC "HIV/AIDS Surveillance Report" Vol. 13, No. 2)
Also note that within the world in general, The ammount of homosexuals and Bisexuals infected with AIDS is miniscule compared to the ammount of
heterosexuals infected with AIDS. AIDS is currently an epidemic within Africa, purely from heterosexual intercourse.

Sorry for not being an expert on AIDS statistics, I do not feel pity for those who get HIV through drug use. Still the fact is many women get it from
bi-sexual men in the USA, and I feel many would have been prevented if a more open and tolerant attitude toward it was there. I guess it is still not
an excuse for promiscuity.
THe media is probaly trying to make women gay to satsify the homosexual agenda.

The fact is, there's no proof to your claims at the moment, where its much clearer that the majority of heterosexuals are getting it from drug
use/needle passing, and not even from sexual contact.

Same can be said of Hep C, when I see an inmate with a lot of tattoos I ask, "Hep C"? I have yet to get a negative on that question.
On that note, what has this to do with the topic of the media encouraging women to lesbianism?

Look in women's magazines that are found at supermarkets, go back and look at these magazines over the past 10 to 15 years and you will see more
homo-erotic advertising than you could possibly imagine. So right in the middle of women reading "how to blow 50,000 ways", there are ads with two
chicks naked and wrapped up like a pretzel.
Now look at the cultural situation. Your horny hormone raging 13 year old daughter asks "Dad, Mom, Can Alex sleep over tonight" Whats your response?
Right "Not unless jesus comes back and says its ok, and Satan is with him and they are best friends"
But "Mom, Dad, can Alicia stay over tonight" and the response is "Sure honey, we can pick up pizza and some movies"....Am I right here?
Now when these two horny hormone raging teen girls are behind their bedroom door, reading their Cosmoteen and what not, being exposed to all that
homo-erotica...who knows what goes down? hmmm? Do you know?
I'll leave it to your imagination, you pervs.
Homosexuality is "natural". When you are a child and think "girls have cooties" or "Boys are smelly", and only befriend and associate with the
same sex, you are actually homosexual, that is the psychological view of things. With this in mind, go study some adult homosexuals and see if their
interactions, discussion, and relations to each other isn't exactly like a bunch of 11 year olds.
For real.
Just fall into the cross hairs of being the target of a homosexuals infatuation for a bit, and you will see plain as day the emotional mentality of a
horny 13 year old.
This is what I've observed in the wiccan, pagan, new age, rave, tribal and professional business communities over the past two decades.
Not that I haven't seen even more underdeveloped child like behavior among adult heterosexuals mind you...but that is a different topic.

The question is, "Does the media make some women gay?" The answer is no because nothing makes you 'gay'.
If you like penii (plural for penis ) then you will think about penii when you are alone. You will notice penii. If you like boobs then you'll
think about them. Being 'gay' is not caused by televison. Which sex turns you on is determined by genetics (in some cases) and by childhood sexual
development (in most cases).
Having said that, I would say there is a definite media-push to make same-sex contact an acceptable thing. It's much more accepted these days and
yes, that's due to televison and the media.
If I had a daughter, I would be happy if she told me she was a lesbian for a number of reasons. Lesbians are awesome. They are socially much more
aware and being homosexual, they have a much better understanding of prejudice and so would be more able to empathize. The lez/bi women I've known
have been some of the the coolest people I've known. I wish I knew more.
If parents are afraid of their daughter being a lezzie , my question is, is it better to have her receiving sperm?

I think guys like girls kissing, because it is 4 boobs to look at, is ALLMOST (but not quiet) as good as us kissing that girl yourselve , and
certainly better than some other punk kissing that girl, hey there is even the slight change of a threesome with these 2 girls.
Like the previous poster, I don't think media makes you gay , i do think that there is a whole grey area ranging between 100 percent str8 and 100
percent gay and that "consumerist" media encourages people to try sorts of stuff.
This has both good and bad consequences.
Freedom without education is driving without your seatbelt. I think some media lack in the educational department....

At first when I saw the topic I thought "what you mean like Ellen and televised Indigo Girl concerts?" which I don't think would turn anyone, just
make the public more tolerant. However this girl-on-girl action is not a new thing. Men have found it to be a favorite turn-on for a long time. The
problem is its still considered "taboo" or "perverted" by a large portion of the public, which also explains why it turns men on.
Have pornographic/sexual fantasies become more prominant in mainstream media? I think that tv shows a lot more sexual subject matter as time goes on,
but also reflects social trends, and discrimination (race, sexuality, religion, etc) is a huge social factor. Art can immitate life...
The girls who experiment sexually, as influenced by television trends are often confused about their personal identity, trying to appeal to men as
"wild" or "sexy" or trying to rebel against the values they have been told they should have.
Most gay/lesbians were born that way (but often repressed or hid it based on social tolerance), however, I am sure more have 'come out' since it has
become more acceptable, based on media exposure.
Just my half-asleep 2 cents

I think the media has made everyone who is gay today, gay. Sure there were gays back then but they were so few and not as open about it. Now there
are gay shows which even straight people watch.

There is no way to say that there are more gay people now than there "were then", because homosexuals used to be imprisoned and committed to insane
asylums.
I happen to share the name of a man who was hanged for homosexuality in England.
Read that as murdered by a bigotted society.
How many gay people would out themselves knowing that they were going the hanged?
A boy in my mother's little rural Pennsylvania school was called faggot so much he went home and blew his brains out with a shotgun. That would be
about 1965 or so.
The question is does the media make some women gay, and the answer is probably.
Some people are very susceptible to media influence. Teen age girls especially, look at the anorexia situation. You think they just wanted to
puke up all their food because it feels good?
Nope, they are pressured to look like Barby dolls from birth. What next...nipple removal?
Someone asked if it was better that girls are receiving sperm. As a father, I'd say, hell no, let my daughter hump the whole cheerleading squad
before she brings home a football player!!!
I would feel much better knowing my daughter wouldn't have to drop out of school because some dick couldn't keep his self control.
But then...I've known some psycho lesbians in my time, so I'll be wary either way.

Your kidding right? Do you know how rampant homosexuality was in Roman times? Look it up. Where's the media there? Hell even Leonardo Da Vinci was
gay. It's nothing new. The only thing the media has done, was change the landscape as such that it's either "chic" to be gay/bi or if you really
are GAY/BI coming out and saying so is not a big deal anymore.
Media does NOT make some gay/bi period, do they glorify it in some situations - yes. Have you seen those gay shows? Are you looking at my a** right
now? Silly...
Peace
