He was under UN travel sanctions and was not allowed to leave Iran.

Thanks for the info. I haven’t seen it mentioned in any news story. I wonder why?
I heard something but only in passing. Ironically though, Bloomberg had an article stating he was there to negotiate the replacement of the outed Iraqi PM, so it was clear he was there to exert influence. I also heard a former brigadier general speaking on this issue and former navy guy Dan Crenshaw state that Trump was in his right to do what he did. It’s only leftist armchair socialists who are griping, and a few never Trumpers including a few right here.

My first vote was for Mickey Mouse (to be fair my choices were Bill Clinton and whoever he ran against in 96.) The President killed a terrorist in Iraq illegally (UN travel sanctions.) Rumor is to stir up problems for the US so good for him to do so. a reply to: chr0naut

Here is some insight regarding the purpose of Soleimani's visit to Iraq from Gordon Duff at Veterans Today.

It appears he was tricked into going there.

Meh. Do you generally kill people for breaking UN-judge decisions and if so, when can we start to Dronebama the US back into the future with Reaper drones for all the UN-law violations on their tap? Just asking for a friend, ya know.

Admit it, you were actually waiting for this response. Yes. You!

I like this new interest for the UN laws we agreed upon as fellow naked apes, great piece of irony right there. Legalize it!

Well I just know that he was the man who saved Iraq from ISIS when they were behind the Baghdad doors. And the man who was with him was the leader of the mobilization group who helped him.

Trump tries to pretend that this was for the benefits of USA I am not American but I think he did this for the benefits of himself to please those zhionist fanatic groups to support him.

Here the public opinion is that USA made and supported ISIS and now killed the hero that stood against it. I do not want to exaggerate but it is enough that you see how many people respected him both in Iraq and Iran and elsewhere.

I am sorry to say that Trump ruined the least reputation which had remained for USA. I wish at least it was for the sake of his country but I do not know how it can be !
This is a wage of war.
And all this time I had the mistaken idea that it was U.S. forces under Trump and resistance groups led and supplied by the USA that largely dismantled the ISIS caliphate. But it turns out it was the martyr Soleimani who defeated them while aiding and advising the psychotic Assad regime and fighting alongside the Russians. I guess we should be mourning his death despite his direct role in killing and maiming hundreds of Americans and Muslims, too. I don’t think he’s quite the hero you make him out to be.

I was speaking about the start of ISIS invasion when Baghdad was about to collapse. Unfortunately some of the western intelligence services where behind ISIS. The problem is that approximately most of the white house interventions in the middle East is corrupt or destructive. So whoever stands against it may be seen as a hero by some people. But Suleimani was seen as a hero for millions of people in the middle east. Trump made a big mistake to assassinate him. He endangered the US benefits and reputation.
