I think for political optics purposes alone they have determined they will at least listen to opening arguments from both sides, with Senators being allowed to ask questions. Should last 2 weeks. Then at that point they will convene and debate/vote as to whether they will proceed with calling witnesses, or vote to dismiss.

I noticed that the foiled bomb plot took place in Jersey City.

It seems to me like Jersey must be a black hat stronghold.

I was hoping this would play out that way but a month or so ago Lindsey Graham made it seem like they would get it over asap, looked like Lindsey and some republicans may have had some exposure issues.
I am looking forward to how this plays out, it may get real ugly for some not named Trump.

As of this moment, they agree with Joe Biden's statement over the weekend that he and Obama didn't have a "whiff" of scandal associated with either of them.

The Senate trial can be a REAL MOAB if Republicans and the Trump team play their cards right. (Assuming Rudy and Q are correct.)

There has to be some discovery process where the case for defense is presented in the Senate. As weak as the case Schiff and Naddy constructed is, it still has to be rebutted with fact.

Civil cases are always seeking evidence. But not many Court orders are related to a possible violation of the law. I cant imagine a life or death reason in a civil suit.

Cases such as child custody for instance needs all the facts. Perhaps the mom suspects the dad was taking the baby to the hookers apartment with him and he was hooking up via phone. Well Mom needs that to prove he is an all out scum bag (for an extreme example).

I doubt it's him. He was the long-standing host of the quiz show Jeopardy. He was an institution, but suddenly had to stop because he was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. Why Q would know that, and why it would be him? I have no idea, but it would be someone like that -- the same sort of respected and known institution who is never, ever gone.
