No! They are just learning the real lesson of life. We have had it knocked out of us since WW2. When the men returned from that war they realised what it means to stick together as a "team". We had it before with Communities. They stuck together and fought for one another. Now, some-one moves in next door they wont talk to you they wont integrate into the community. Except, except, those that do not want to integrate. Islam, Hasidic Jews, Blacks, etc. don't be afraid to see what's in front of your eyes.
In America this trouble is coming mainly from one community and that's because they've had it stamped in them from the 60s. Black power, together we are strong, proud to be black etc. need I go on. And this message has come from adults. The kids have just learnt that all that is true. Stick together, you've got the power.

I didn’t realize these youth were black.. because I agree with you.. that a demographic of youth is being taught mad disrespect against society and the white man. But it IS still a cultural thing like I said.. and whether they are being manipulated and brainwashed by adults or older youth isn’t really the point. It’s only in recent years that the black power war has gotten so divisive and the whole mob mentality scare tactics are indeed something that has cropped up more in the last years.

It’s not a child thing. It is a parenting thing.

Children push limits to find out where the boundaries are. They do it from a very young age as they explore the world around them to see how things work.

These “problem kids” never found a defined and consistent boundary. So they do as they please because there are no consequences to their actions.

I just don't understand their need to be so destructive.

We have a lot of vandalism the teens around here are responsible for. It is beyond criminal, it leans towards being mental. I live in an area were there are few teens of color and thanks to video footage, those few can't be blamed for the destruction.

Why do young people get joy out of destroying the property of hard working people that have never done them harm and in most cases have benefited them and the community?

Closed in at home, rarely going out... because going out now involves a lot of issues. Everything we do is over-regulated and socially scrutinized to the Nth degree. I'll freely admit I rarely go out

Man, I was worried that I was anti-social and was the only one doing that. It's good to know it's not just me and that there are others. But, I don't know what to do about it. And I like a big car, too. You know Detroit doesn't make a single full-sized car anymore. Oddly enough, they still make full-size people, of which I am one.

The world can't last long if it keeps going on like this.

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Hundreds of teens ran wild through Northgate Mall Thursday night, police said, starting fights and creating a panic among shoppers and workers on the busy first day after Christmas.

Malls all across America have had issues with this. Even in my own city. Curfews won't be the answer. Pretty soon they will screen people going in one by one. Banks near me have already started doing it. Going into a mall will be a selective experience. Just watch...
I don't blame these malls one bit. These teens had no intention of buying anything. They were there to wreck havoc. Reports say after they were kicked out of the mall they went to all the nearby restaurants but didn't order anything, so the restaurants went into lockdown too.

Wait... Malls still exist? I thought they were just all giant abandoned building by now... or is that just my mall?

That's capitalism for ya....

Why even bother to shop when fedx will bring it right to your door.

How you blame capitalism for a bunch of kids with no morals of ethics. Let's not look at their single parent household brought about by welfare and social programs promised by Democrats.

One day jr. you will realize capitalism creates the largest distribution of wealth and freedom's any society can achieve.

I don't think they were blaming the kids running wild on Capitalism. They were blaming the fact that malls are disappearing because of Capitalism.

“Teens” eh?

Lol, not just teens. Black teens.

The 3 percent that are committing nearly half of all nationwide violent crime and murder, in other words.

"I think that these malls should all install a rack of stocks. When a kid is found breaking the rules of the mall that kid should be put in the stocks for the afternoon and made to listen to Guy Lombardo music for three hours"

Lombardo is for light damage.... you need Lawrence Welk for bad damage.

That's exactly what I was trying to say but there are some that take childish delight in trying to trigger me and never pass up an opportunity to be insulting.

Malls? It’s Cincinnati. Even Mark Twain said he wanted to die in Cincinnati because they are always twenty years behind the rest of the country.

It's not acceptable hell no, but they don't allow them just to gather and talk anymore in a public space. Parks are barred from hangouts, they get run off or worse unless they are with a parent or watching children. Outskirts of parking lots are not acceptable meetups. There are still many good kids around as well as the bored thrill seekers. The cities need to start better activities for the kids, and its gonna have to come from the community not these corporations who just want profit. We need a hunting, skateboards, 4 wheeler, ATV clubs. Something, Our young are not getting what they need. Many times its mom or dad. food for thought

some comments were, all of these kids are single parent homes.
sucks.

the only problem with psycho kids is they have no parents to teach them right or wrong.

There is epidemic levels of fathers abandoning their children in some places and everyone is afraid to address it....

Not to do a tat for tat, but I have seen many cases were the fathers are caring for the children and the mother is the one that did the ditching.

Being a woman, I hate to say it, but in the eight cases that I know personally, and I am involved with, the children seem to be far more stable, than those with dead beat Dads. I want to think it is because they have a lot of support, and not that fathers do a better job as a single parent.

Malls arent closing because of Capitalism, malls are closing because technology changes and people no longer have to go to the mall to get their goods and services, hell they dont even have to leave their house.

I know you socialists like to blame Capitalism for every downfall of anything, but maybe you should start with a little logic first

I know this has nothing to do about me, but I haven't been to a mall in years, and just when I didn't think I would be jumping on the online shopping trend, my brother got Prime.

I tell him what I want, and in a day or two he is dropping it off at my house. Living way out in the woods makes shopping not only easy but it saves me money and time. So I am not surprised the malls are failing.

Are you a parent by any chance ? If you are, can you actually say your children were always little angels because of your superior parenting ?

I’ve known a lot of different families in my life and many with multiple children. The parents all loved each of their children equally and disciplined them similarly. If it is the parenting, why is it that so often in these families there is one or maybe a couple of “wild childs”. These children were raised exactly the same.. yet are more daring and prone to ignore the rules and expectations.

I think it is really unfair to blame parenting 100% for a child’s misconduct.. as many of these children will outgrow foolish ways.

How many here on ATS pulled all sorts of pranks as kids ? Did they have horrible parents?

Just young teens huh? No mention of any particular similarities between these teens? Not one news agency ready to call out the elephant in the room on this one?

Any reason they would need to mention their race?

I don't see the relevance in mentioning anything about it.

But I am curious to know why it's the one thing you took away from this and felt the need to mention it.
