Part and parcel of being a landlord. I've heard of some terrible landlords too.

I have a buddy who is former AGR (Active Guard Reserve) and he ONLY rents to fellow AGR's. That said, he too is suffering many of the same problems you are. Most are good, but all it takes is one.

Landlords that don’t care or make excuses to save money are a nightmare. I had one that continually put off important work until he could find the cheapest guy who would do it under the table. Having a sparking fuse box for three days does not help in sleeping well. I was too damn nice and waited instead of calling fire department.

Same place.. every time upstairs toilet is flushed water bubbles up my kitchen sink... eewe !! He kept giving me draino to pour down sinks.Then my upstairs neighbor gets really sick and is constantly barfing up blood .. which finds its way into my kitchen sink as well. 😮... I am not a happy camper and once again landlord gives me draino.🙄. Long story short I didn’t want to cook in the place anymore or do dishes. I’ve given this Guy multiple chances with a miriad of issues and he was either dangerously slow at fixing them or totally inept.

I gave my notice and took him to the Rentalsmen board . Him and his wife lied so badly and because there was only one of me.. they won the case. It was disgusting to see such selfish liars win.. but at least I don’t have to rent from them now. Waiting for karma to get them.. still have resentment over that bs.

It's a lease violation but they suddenly can't speak English.

LOL had that pulled on me before. Amazing how all their English skills are gone like forgetting how to ride a bike in seconds. They use to pull that junk when I busted them for felony shoplifting when I worked security. I could hear them speaking English. Bust them then no English. I would mock and laugh at them then call the police. Straight to jail for a felony English or no English.

It's YOUR house; protect it. re write the lease agreement to favor you.

I bought a duplex, rented one side lived in the other. There was one wall that had one outlet that was wired to the wrong side of the house (she had one outlet I paid for and she knew it). Went over there for something and saw she had extension cords and power strips plugged into power strips going to the one outlet, basically running everything electrical in her house into the one outlet I payed for, Yep, I was pissed to say the least. Took outlet out right there and then.


I'm done with rentals, it just wasn't worth it.

Sucks you have to leech money from people for ... owning property. It’s a real bitch of a business. Maybe, work a really job and stop gouging other people or expecting them to live a certain way and you’ll feel much better. a reply to: Bluntone22
