Growing up as a kid, my family tradition was always doing a roast turkey on Christmas, same fare as Thanksgiving.

I always loved roast turkey for the preparation part, but I never really went overboard on the eating it part. It's okay. I actually liked the sides better than the turkey. (Wild turkeys are a major exception because they're AWESOME), but I digress.

One year I said we were going to deviate from the turkey tradition, and I was shocked at the reaction! My whole family said "YES...YES and YES!!!" Everyone was sick of turkey for Christmas, so I'd go out and buy a really nice prime rib (and we learned how to cook it perfectly...for everyone). After that, my whole family never ate turkey again for Christmas. It was always Prime Rib...which is now the tradition.

My parents have passed now, but my wife and I still keep the tradition. Now, it's even greater because we give away prime ribs from our own livestock to others for their tradition. And, it's a sellout every year!

You will be glad to know that I am finally going to have that turkey that’s been in the freezer since it ended up being lasagna for Thanksgiving. As tempting as even the boxed macaroni and cheese looked, I’ll stick with mashed potatoes and gravy.

Merry Christmas one and all.

I tried so hard to not have to do the whole Turkey, Stuffing with sausage,Cream cheese mashed potatoes.

I did in fact got lasagna for thanksgiving. In the end I cooked a turkey, Stuffing with sausage, Cream cheese mashed potatoes. Plus I made a 4 pound cream cheese ball mixed with chicken and pistachios.

I'm a Glutton. But I shared.

Edit: I should explain, I didn't want to do dishes. Hence I paid handsomely to the local sausage deli to make those lasagna.
Hoping just to throw it in the oven and dispose of the tin foil pan later. Didn't happen.

"Flying disks!"...I love it already!!!

Actually, I use just extra hot pure prepared horseradish. This stuff...

Silver Spring Extra Hot Horseradish

And lemme' tell ya, this stuff is HOT!! It's 'wipe out your sinuses' kind of hot!

I've made my own before, but it doesn't stay hot for more than a couple days. This stuff stays HOT for weeks!

ETA...I'm gonna' try that recipe too! Looks awesome!!

OH YEAH!!!!

That shrimp looks GOOOOooood!!! Just had fresh shrimp tonight, a nice butter-garlic Scampi with some Romano and Asiago over some Linguine. Something light, don't want to eat too much before tomorrow!!

ETA - You know the shrimp are fresh when they're a purple/blue color. When they start getting grey they're getting old. Quick pan fry with some butter and garlic....OH MAN!!

Damn, I made pasta tonight. And got shrimp that was not unshelled. Had to peel and cut out the vein. Buttery Alfredo sauce. Not noodles, but shell type pasta to cradle the goods. I keep sneaking out of bed and getting a spoonful or 3.
Added peas too.

DAMNIT now I want another taste.

Merry Christmas to everyone.

As far as food goes my wife makes a mean egg soufflé every Christmas morning. I will grind up some Black Rifle beans and make a mean cup of mud and relax by the fireplace.

Sir I wish you a great Christmas. I would love to feed you and family.

It's about giving to others. Unless the other's are butt sniffers.

MY prime is 4 days old post purchased. I was told to let the meat break down, it holds true.

I haven't died yet, but I'm starting to wonder if I should age my meat like cheese and wine.

Not true with meat, Botulism... Also not correct😆
