But with the state of the world today, glad I don't have kids.
No hope then.
Kids are our only hope.
People without them often think kids are not people. They're wrong.
These are adults. We have this image in our minds that millennials are children. That is only true with ragard to coping skills, social skills, work/life skills and has nothing at all to do with age.

Generation 1: "My god your doing it all wrong; here just let me do it the right way"
Generation 2: " "
Generation 1: "Why are you so hopeless?"
Thing is, that is how I learned. I certainly didn't know how to replace a starter on my car until my dad showed me. Emulation is how we learn.
Nothings really changed....youtube is chock full of videos that people emulate to learn stuff from. And its obviously a rather popular way of doing it. So i fail to see the point of your pseudo example here.

I've no reason to be "shamed".
The kids I helped raise are all actually adults, with adult attitudes concerning earning ones place in the world.
Society owes no one a damned thing. The sooner people realize this, the better off they'll be. I see it played out every damned night at work.
Where I work, there are three temp agencies that provide workers, and there's a group of full timers, which is what I am. I started as a temp, and worked my ass off, got noticed and was offered a full time position. It ain't much, but it's mine, and fairly earned, and opportunities for further advancement are there.
I was asked last week by a temp who started before I did, "How did you become full time before I did, I've been here longer."
My answer was not conducive to making a Christmas card list...
"Sonny, I'll show you why. See our carts there? We've been at this for about five hours now, I'm on my 30th pick. You're still on your first dozen...does that answer your question?" "If you spent less time talkin' up the girls, and more time working...something good might happen for you." "Try it."
Damned if I'll apologize for being willing to work. But my plans kinda require that I do.
Death glare was his only response. ...and there are many just like him. They want the good things, but won't/aren't willing to work for it.
Now that's not to say they're all like that, because they're not. I've seen others who can work my 50+ year old butt into the ground...as they should--they're, in many cases, a third my age. Doesn't change the fact that I wish I was that quick still...
The 21 year old does as little as possible and has expressed a desire to live off the government if it were possible.
