Merry Christmas from Australia. Surrounded by bushfires in Sydney with road closures in all directions , so staying home this Christmas.
I feel blessed here in the middle of Sydney because people in the bush and blue mountains area have it so much worse.
Count your blessings this Christmas. Love to all. xxx

The most important thing there is to stay safe and ask friends and family to do the same.

My family has learned over the years that the most important thing is getting everyone together and Christmas will wait for us to do that. Sure Dec. 25 is only one day a year, but family together can make any day seem like Dec. 25th. Have your Christmas celebration when you can all get together safely and not a day sooner. It will still be Christmas.

I am aware of all the devastation from the bushfires Flighty.

Stay safe and have a quiet and peaceful Christmas. Families can always get together another time to celebrate as Ketsuko pointed out.

Merry Christmas!

OMGosh! Thanks for sparking a forgotten, 20 year old memory with that picture!
One Christmas, we found a glass ball shattered in front of our wooden bookcase in the morning! The next morning another one! We had gotten a new kitten at the end of the summer. We finally caught him at it. He would keep batting one of the balls on the bottom branch until it fell. Then he would get behind it & swat it hard like a golf ball, across to the bookcase, where it hit the wood & shattered! It was so funny & we were so amazed at his technique, that we left some of the cheap ones on the bottom branch for him! The first time must have been an accident, but he definitely figured it out. The way he had to line them up & then walk around behind them, to get them going in the right direction! And the force that little stinker had to use to get them to go across the carpet! He sure was a smart one!

A nice, fuzzy memory! I can't wait to remind the kids about it tomorrow!

I do it on a regular basis.

Most people smile, and say the same thing. It's even started conversations while waiting for the over worked cashier to get to us--poor thing looked dead on her feet. Been there done that, and never will again if it can be avoided. Retail work sucks!!!

Most people will accept the greeting with a positive gesture of some sort.

Always.

But they're never more than a memory away. We put up the little German village for the first time since Mom passed away so long ago...seems only like yesterday though...

Anyway...it brought back some really good memories of Christmas' past when we were all within an easy drive of each other.

Happy Christmas to all.
