Didn't Trump proclaim ISIS had been eliminated ?

President Trump said in a statement Saturday that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has been defeated, and that the U.S., as part of a coalition, "has has liberated all ISIS-controlled territory in Syria and Iraq—100 Percent of the “caliphate.”

thehill.com...

There are growing indications that the Islamic State (IS) group is re-organising in Iraq, two years after losing the last of its territory in the country. Kurdish and Western intelligence officials have told the BBC that the IS presence in Iraq is a sophisticated insurgency, and IS attacks are increasing

A quick google search, just for shenanigans unveiled:

Obama tops that with al quada. 32 times since that Beghazi attack.

That number is from 2012. He reigned longer.

They were defeated, and their land has been liberated. You can watch their last stand in Syria here, it was quite the firework show and the camp from inside looked like hell. There is no more caliphate.

There is always an insurgency. They have also begun to increase their attacks in Libya and Egypt as a result. Whatever is in Iraq taking cheap pop shots with surprise ambushes and IED attacks can be contained by the coalition forces operating there.

There's undoubtedly some remaining isis fighters left, especially in the more remote areas of Iraq. If they cause a ruckus, be assured Trump will take care of them. Swiftly, and severely.

He will deal with them, unlike that
giant ponce Obama. (Who referred to them as "ISIL")

They had cut down ISIS by a lot, but the threat was not completely eliminated. It is hard to eliminate something like ISIS, new people join it all the time. Trump was premature in what he said, most of us know that ISIS will be back to haunt us and that it is almost impossible to get rid of them.

BBC and Thehill are liberal media and trying to make the President look bad.

Anytime anything that contradicts or is critical of the President is published, this is why. If you searched CNN for a similar article to link, your entire thread would be disregarded.

His words are always accurate and true. Case closed.

Of course it is. The World must have a credible enemy to justify all the crazy amount of money we spend on the military.

Aye, holographic alien invasion just wont cut the mustard, or is not up to par yet.

Hence terrorists are the enemy, even when we help sponsor and create them.

After all we canny lose focus or we might catch on to whats behind the curtain.

The destruction of the ISIS Caliphate was a major achievement and one that both Trump as the Commander in Chief and all involved in the operation can be proud of.

That said, a terrorist organisation is always likely to rear it's ugly head again. If they try and capture lands and build their Caliphate, they will be destroyed again. But, they will still cause mayhem through, as the article says, insurgencies and acts of terror.

And bring even more disgruntled poverty-stricken refugees to our shores???

Smart move there, that makes perfect sense, nevermind pleases our respective military-industrial complex no end.

All bombing them does is create the next generation of terrorist nevermind a whole lot of collateral damage.

I seem to recall ISIS was a perfectly peaceful group- they even had an app on my samsung note 2.

Then all of a sudden they crossed the central bank and announced their own non fiat currency.

Two weeks later the app was gone, the concept of the group was gone, the entire thing had been wiped from US media- and all of a sudden there was a new terrorist organization called ISLS. Or was it ISIS? Or was it ISIL?
Anyway, they were going around beheading people who had the same beliefs as those who had recently gained some sort of power in the US MSM! Oh no!
Granted their founding fathers had been doing this # for thousands of years- stone women who misbehave, execute homosexuals, basically murder anyone who doesn't follow the backwards religion that has ruled that region for centuries- and is still insisting on taking over the world.

All of a sudden, this group of folks going around promoting this new currency also happened to be committing atrocities! I guess it doesn't matter that it was never a problem until the point they challenged the central banks of the world- at least not for the last century.

I wouldn't go around trusting the news. I'd like to draw my own conclusions but proper journalism turned into a suicidal career when the arkancides took power. Possibly longer, world wide.
