I don't normally do mud pit threads but.....

Yep. Everyones favourite tangerine spewing bull about wind power. You have to wonder how much the coal lobby is paying him.

There is an old Chinese curse that says "may you live in interesting times" - and yep, we certainly do.

Sadly this video misses the bit where he goes on to say that when the wind dies down you lose power and can't watch him on TV, but yep. he said that too.

This idiot has 4,018 nuclear weapons (approx) at his disposal....

I can't watch videos now but from what I understand, wind power isn't very efficient. I could be wrong. Either way, we should keep running coal plants because it's cheap and efficient, and other countries aren't really slowing down their production.

And as far as I'm concerned, anyone with nuclear weapons is too stupid to make that kind of decision, regardless of who they are.

ETA: Would you trust any of the dumbasses in this race cycle or the last for that matter with nukes? Hell to the no for me.

No clue what he is saying but here are some facts:

Wind, as an alternative energy source is indeed #ty. It has a higher CO2 footprint than photovoltaic systems when they are produced.

Unlike water or solar, you can not really calculate with it from a energy management perspective. These are the first that get shut off in favor of not having to scale down energy output on gas or coal power plants, too.

Add: Power from wind is still better than no power at all, of course.

Wind power is a fool's errand on anything beyond individual unit scale.

Yes, what we need are more dismantled old non recyclable wind turbine blades in our landfills. You are a certified GENIUS! No, really, I'm totally serious!

Wind (and solar for that matter) don’t work well everywhere. There are many places that don’t get much wind or are overcast too often for their forms of energy to be effective.

ETA. You should probably stick to not doing political threads. You aren’t good at it. Trust your instincts next time.

You will love this:

In the eastern sea near Germany, we built 30 wind turbines and burned 22 000L of fossil fuel a month to keep them running, cooled and corrosion away until the cables were finished.

It took them years I think. Sorry only German sources, no english ones.

The wind park is called "Riffgat"

Of your distorted reality perhaps. He has a firm grasp of my reality though which is why he is so popular and is going to be re-elected.

Find a windmap for your geographic location.

Find the average speed per year and the optimum height.

Wind isn't a viable option for many people.

Unless you live out in the middle of BFE and have flat terrain.

COAL and other fossil fuels Beat solar and wind because they don't depend on the WEATHER to work.

Yet his statements on wind power are firmly based in reality rather than the fairy tale narrative the AGW crowd would prefer everyone believe.
stopthesethings.com...

Not that you care, but I'm an engineer... I've actually worked on the site civil for several major wind farms. As I said above, a single small turbine is a great thing to run a cabin or even a homestead, get a couple of battery banks and you're all set for off grid electricity... they do not, however, work as a panacea of the carbon neutral cult. You'll not ascend to sainthood by advocating wind power because they're actually more of an albatross around nature's neck than clean coal, hydropower, or nuclear generation ever has been or ever will be.

I find his mistakes and gaffes refreshing because that's all the past presidents could do—talk. They were experts at speaking. But they've never built or led anything more than their political careers.
