Single goal was to get new zealand to ban firearms?

Can you source that claim?

New Zealand Killer’s Manifesto Says That He Did Attack To Get More Gun Control/Gun Bans In New Zealand And The US, Killer Was A Socialist, Environmentalist Who Hated Capitalists And Trade

He was a white supremacist who thought a gun ban would result is a civil war. Not actually in favour of a gun ban.

He probably got that bright idea from the chans.

The government banned the most lethal types of semi-automatic weapons

Most lethal? Do the ones they bought back fire something other than bullets? A gun, much like a sling shot, propels a projectile, and the end result can be death.

But wait for it......

Police Minister Stuart Nash told reporters Saturday that criminals would find it harder to get their hands on assault weapons because they tended to steal them from lawful owners, but those weapons would now be out of circulation.

Drugs are usually bought from people, so if we kill all the people, we can solve the drug problem.

And remember, all this is because a guy who's single goal was to get New Zealand to ban firearms, killed some people and his reward was he got exactly what he wanted. I've said this before, perhaps this nice man could have just wrote a letter, and asked that they ban firearms, then many lives, including his could have been saved. It seems the banning of these weapons was something the public wanted to do anyway.

Remember, if you are afraid of someone stealing your stuff, just get rid of your stuff. Derp.

Good point...If you don't want the crooks stealing everything you own, DON'T OWN ANYTHING...

Exactly, they will break in, steal your toaster and go shoot people with it.

What's stupid about it ? it clearly states the weapons are stolen from lawful owners, if the guns aren't there to be stolen in the first place they cannot be used to shoot innocent people.

What's stupid is to do nothing and wait for hope and prayers to fix the problem.

The real solution is easy.

Make it mandatory for everyone to own a weapon, make it mandatory to be trained on it, make it mandatory that everyone have at least a little bit of military experience.

You know, post for me the list of mass shootings in Switzerland.

An armed society is a polite society.

Sshhhhh

The amount of weak and gutless leftists in this site is quite high

Narking and doxxing and reporting people to the authorities for falsely-perceived grievances is par for the course. The very worst among them on this site lives in New Zealand, 100% chance he’ll report your post for investigation. It’s just what they do. Pussies.

As for “nothing will change if we don’t do something
What a pathetic argument. Nothing was happening. Nothing needed to be changed.

Oh ONE person attacked a group of people ONE time. ONCE.

I wonder what laws the weak and gutless are seeking to change to combat ‘other’ types of crimes? ‘Other’ types where the ONLY motivation is a religious text.
Will the religion be banned? Will the text be banned?

No of course not

These people do not care one single bit about the lives of others, the safety of others or anything else they ‘claim’ to care about.

They DO care, however, that the media has told them that ‘guns are bad’ and that’s the absolute limit of their understanding

Ban all cars to stop drunk drivers from killing people. 100% that is exactly the same as removing harmless firearms from the most law-abiding group of people in the country. It will not stop one single gun crime from being committed.
When a criminal commits a crime it’s the fault of the patriarchy or white colonialism or some other totally fabricated reason like that.
Unless he uses a gun. Then it’s the fault of ALL people who like to hunt and shoot for sport.

The firearms confiscation in NZ was a total failure. An extremely tiny amount of firearms were handed in. Less than a third of projected numbers.

I wonder why?

And the attitude of the weak and the gutless towards those who refused? “Arrest them, make examples of them, THEY are the ones at fault here”

You must be confused, that's most of the guns out there, long rifle and pistol.

Here's the thing...

I am for everyone on the planet being able to protect themselves if they have to.

You are for your government protecting them...

And when seconds count, your government is minutes away.

Most mass shooters in this century have written manifestos, have planned their attacks to cause the maximum amount of kills because they are looking for notoriety.

They look for gun free zones.

Do you comprehend that?

Legislation is causing mass shootings.

Link for me the mass shootings that have happened at a NRA event.

List for me the mass shootings that have happened outside of a gun free zone.

As a bonus, list for me the mass shooters in the last 20 years that were not on psychotropics.

You are looking in the wrong direction on trying to cut down on this madness.

The reason you are is that there is a political ideology who would be quite happy if the citizenry were not armed.

Don't fall for it.

Not pistols
They’re not banned there at all

Still perfectly legal to own and purchase semi automatic large-caliber pistols in NZ if you have the right license
And a glock17 holds 18 rounds of 9mm

(That paragraph probably triggered one or two of the weak and the gutless, but it’s 100% true. Pistols are totally unaffected by the ban)

The ‘ban’ has achieved absolutely nothing

Thank you for the info... that's some funny schiff right there.

So can you get the .223 pistol there... and buy the stock for it?

Was thinking about the B&T APC223.

Or do they just ban the stock?

I don't really have an issue with an armed citizenry, at the same time I have no issue with there being restrictions on said weaponry.

Nothing changes without making changes.

Have you got the numbers on lives saved every year in comparison to lives lost due to gun crime? Maybe you should look it up.

You'll want to let people keep their guns.

Yeah the stock is banned
The bullpup stock for pistols is also going to be banned

Semi auto .22 and shotguns are not banned. Even ‘military style’ ones (which will scare some people, because they are black, like Rambo’s one, so that means they’re designed to kill people). Limit is ten round magazine.
Lever action is not banned. Limit to factory magazine capacity only.
No change at all in any of their pistol laws

‘All military style semi automatic centre fire rifles are banned’ is pretty much the change

So the actual effect it will have on ANY future gun crime is absolutely zero. That cannot be argued.

You don't think their goverment isn't drawing up plans to get them banned too ?

They will end up with similar restrictions to gun control as we do here

think I read 1.2 million guns in the country, and they got 50k and declare it a resounding victory over violence..

*sighs* then when the next bad thing happens they will ban more.
