For the first time in their two centuries of history Liverpool won the one cup thats eluded them
even the great teams of the 80s couldnt do it

They finally did it today beating Flamengo 1-0
Roberto Firmino in extra time

On a sad note, Martin Peters has passed away age 76.

He was part of the team that won the only cup that really matters.

R.I.P. Martin.

Its great that we won, but the celebrations will be nothing like the one when we finally win the Premiership..

But for now, we're World Club Champions!!!!

the youth who played today were good
but the ones who played villa - the ginger striker and the defenders
were pretty rubbish

today was a fine balance with some good youth and some wiser older heads
but to go all out playing the rookie kids was recipe for disaster versus villa
