After learning this today, I have a serious issue with this song

Now, I'm not one to limit free speech in any manner, however there are restrictions in place to that for good reasons (usually). I've heard this annoying song for a while, and apparently it is a hit with the kids.

Here's the chorus

So you're a tough guy
Like it really rough guy
Just can't get enough guy
Chest always so puffed guy
I'm that bad type
Make your mama sad type
Make your girlfriend mad tight
Might seduce your dad type
I'm the bad guy Duh

Now I get sexual innuendo in music, however the part I emphasized is what gets me. The girl that wrote and sings this song JUST TURNED 18 TWO DAYS AGO! That means when she wrote the song, she was a minor...underage for sexual consent. Yet a song written by a minor including a line about seducing an adult is not only accepted, but becomes a major hit?

How in the hell did society come to not only accept, but APPROVE of songs of minors seducing adults?

Is that really a song promoting seduction by minors or is it just a funny line in a song?

In fact she clearly states its a bad thing to do.

So what's the problem?
She agrees with you that it's a bad thing to do.

The vast majority of todays pop stars don't write their own material, it's written for them by older writers hired by the corporate entertaiment bussinesses promoting them. I guess that only makes it creepier and more disturbing.

...but it doesn't stop her from doing it.

P.S. Kind of annoyed OP didn't put the artist name or song title.

Society today promotes the bad as the new normal and cool. It's been that way for a long time though but still doesn't make it right.

18 is not the universal age of majority.

In many countries it is lower.

And the seduction of an adult by a “minor” (person under the age of majority) has been around as a “taboo” theme since before the publication of ”Lolita”, written by Vladimir Nabokov in 1955.

So she should wait until she's 18 before she is able to write songs?

This is art and whilst I don't appreciate the music I appreciate the attempt at art.

I'm not gonna read "Lolita" but I won't be lining up to burn it either.

Like I said, I advocate the right to free speech and expression, I just think it's morally wrong to promote an underage teen in a sexual manner

True, but that's not new or going away.

It's responses like yours that encourage it more.
If all the old coots like ourselves weren't bothered they wouldn't do it.

If you wanna see burkas in music videos you've gotta convince the youngans it would annoy you just as much as lingerie (although yo be fair it was boxers and a shirt).

Age of consent is lower than 18 in alot of states. As low as 14 I believe.

To be outraged that much by such an obviously playful lyric that you have to create a thread about it on abovetopsecret.com is disturbing within itself.

It's art. It's just WORDS. When muppets like yourself tried to outright ban suggestive lyrics in music back in the 1980s Frank Zappa had to personally testify before Congress to prevent this rabid religion driven insanity from becoming law.

What we ended up with was the PARENTAL ADVISORY EXPLICIT LYRICS stickers instead. Thank #.

Society isn't coming to damn thing, people like you are being dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century and out of the dark ages and away from the kind of backward oppressive religious crap that Islamic countries are still blighted by.

I suggest this kind of nonsense would be much more at home on some religiousy judgemental arsehole forum for old religious poorly educated numpties. I don't think your taking offense at pretty much nothing in a song lyric floats many boats around this place.

Besides, as I said. Frank dealt with this a while back. It's a closed issue.
Little history lesson for you:

I had to watch it without sound. From what I could see I am more concerned that anyone would find the video worth ever playing a second time or spending even one penny for.

Looks like a sad girl, on way too many medications that has learned the value of inappropriate behavior for shock value and attention.

Does My little demon play after 17 on you tube if you let it run in the background?

I’ve found that this song is quite catchy, so attempted to listen to her other stuff. Big mistake.
