If the Vice President is selected in any other way than an election, he or she has to be confirmed by both houses of Congress.
So if Trump is removed, the House can block Pence from appointing a new VP. Then they can go after Pence. If he is removed, Pelosi becomes President until the next election.

The death penalty for treason was removed decades ago..

It seems to me the dems already know they've lost the election next year. Their aim now is just to remove Trump and/or prevent him being re-elected - even if they have to destroy their own party to accomplish it. It's like they know they can't win, but they just don't want Trump to win either.

All they're doing is revealing the desperate depths they're prepared and willing to stoop to, to make Trump's presidency as difficult and stressful as possible, with the aim of turning voters against him. But Trump is still bounding forward stronger than ever. They have failed spectacularly, so far.

This impeachment thing really does need to go ahead though. It's where the real Truths and actual factual hard evidence can and will be presented, by both sides. Reveal everything. I think Trump has a mountain of verified information waiting that will exonerate him and incriminate dems. An impeachment would be the perfect setting to bring anything he's has all out in the open and turn the tables on dems.

I would imagine this impeachment show would be broadcast live globally, dems will expose themselves as the corrupt Satanists they are, and every person in the entire world will have the pleasure of witnessing it . .. . delicious.

Let's get on with it.

I doubt there be a trial - The Dems will not ever transmit the paperwork and instead just carry on investigations until the election next year, adding and passing articles for months in order to create a long list of impeachments as an election strategy. They also want to use the impeachment hanging over Trump's head as a backstop to try and ensure he doesn't get a SC pick in the final year of his first term.

If he's serious about trying to create a President Pelosi by impeachment, then we're actually -- no exaggeration or hyperbole -- at a point where we need to send out the marines to start rounding up traitors. He is literally trying to overthrow the elected government.

Yes they could, but the genius of the Constituion makes it pretty much impossible.
The super majority required in the Senate to remove a President or VP is specifically designed to make the chances of partisan politics driving a power grab negligible.
To get around the Constitution, the Democrats who control the House are playing fast and loose with the rules, pushing the envelope as far as they can in order to gain control, through extortion, over the Senate rules. The House does not have oversight over the Senate, but they are trying to establish it. That's the only chance they really have.

The People need to take this into our own hands or we will get everything we deserve.
