The president is within his rights to have his personal attorney investigate where claims of illegalities against the president are made as to provide a necessary defense.

Of course during that investigation the illegalities of others are learned and uncovered then the truth shall be pursued.

Last I saw, Donald Trump is still president, still standing, and the office is still holding the same powers it held yesterday morning. The impeachers handed him reelection next November. Hell, invaluable campaign help and it didn't cost the Trump 2020 war chest one cent.

The one thing everyone needs to understand is that the President was impeached solely based on a perception of an event. Even when the main players say otherwise it was this perception, not facts that created all this. That perception was completely based on political bias, nothing more and nothing less. If you believe in that perception that the liberals created it doesn't change reality.

Labeling does not equate to guilt, but in this case it did at least for the liberals to vote on an indictment. The interesting part is if this WAS an actual trial it would have ended in a mistrial very early in the process. Their article 2 alone would have led to a mistrial, and that is based on that the SE has ruled if a prosecutor even remotely suggests that silence of the accused or if the accused fights to defend themselves as admission of guilt then the trial is done, over...

All I need to say is the House needs to be thankful it wasn't a trial....Trump didn't want to play their game, they had numerous legal directions to go if they really wanted anyone that Trump didn't want to testify to come before them, but they didn't and so decided to turn it all into article 2. So in the end article 1 is just a perception they created and article 2 is not allowed....

The house would be laughed out of court, they could only control the "impeachmentgate" process, they are actors pretending one minute it's a real court with jurisprudence and the next minute "informing" us all that it is not an actual court/legal process...most see it as the joke it is.

The undisputed fact is he asked for a favor in exchange for funds. This got shot down by a whistle blower, so he quickly released the funds and gave his 'no quid pro quo' phone call to Sondland to cover his ass. But it was too late.

The one benefit of this, is that another globalist Obozo in office for the future will be impeached and everything will be scrutinized even foreign policies. Dems has made the executive branch extremely weak and has layout a blueprint of endless harassment for the next Democrat president.

Although there will be a backlash, and expect and full government control for Republicans in the next election. It just makes it bad if another party controls the house.

Problem is: The investigations found Trump didn't do anything illegal. Nothing at all.

The impeachment "charges" are even things that are not illegal for a President of the US to do.

The total opposite of the way due process works in the US justice system. But the Democrats said they did not have to follow due process and did not and would not. So why should Trump allow his people to participate in what was essentially the "2019 Democratic Presidential Inquisition"
