Ya, well, I managed to watch most of the crapshow, the guy probably just needed a brief diversion from the insanity. They (all of them) could have said all that needed to be said in less than two hours. Repeating the same points over and over again while the other side dismisses everything that you say just serves to waste time. I would have been stark raving mad if I had to actually sit through all of it.

I think their pay should be linked with their approval rating in some way.

My idea is as follows:

Currently congress has an approval rating around 21%. I say any approval rating under 50% should be the yearly pay cut they get. For example 50% - 21% would equal a 29% pay cut immediately. Then next year if they can’t make it to 50% they take another pay cut. But, if they manage to make the people happy and get an approval rating over 50% they get a pay raise of the difference.

I know it won’t happen since they would have to vote this into law, but I guess we can all hope sometimes.

They know exactly where the cameras are and that they are recording at all times. The Democrats know exactly how to stir the pot, yet another example here.

You're in denial if you don't think they know about the cameras. He knows what he's doing, the innuendo is all there.

He probably did it because he was told to. No better way to stir the pot than to be watching the President's favorite sport ("coincidentally" the President's Cup) while at his impeachment hearing, knowing for a fact that there is a camera behind him recording at all times.

Yeah, he TOTALLY didn't mean to get caught.

Do you really honestly think this whole thing was intentional? To stir the pot as you say.
Like the Democrat version of 3D Chess.

Most Trump haters I see seem to have some sort of disconnect between the eyes, ears and brain that completely distorts reality and bypasses any common sense.

I don't really want to say you're a moron if you think this is the case but at the same time it's hard not to.

You telling me he didn't know there was a camera behind him recording everything? Was he so dumb that he forgot that the whole hearing is being watched by millions of people worldwide, picking apart every little detail possible?

What on Earth makes you think he wouldn't know about the camera behind him? Sounds to me like you don't want to admit to being toyed with by Democrats and the establishment in general. I don't blame you though, I'd rather believe things that make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside too.

It feels better to # on someone than it does to look in a mirror and realize the amount of triggering taking place in your own head, so denying logic is a more comfortable option. I totally understand. Calling someone else dumb makes you feel superior, I get it.

Say I was in a group of people that just saw "The Blair Witch Project" soon after it hit theaters and everyone else in the group swore that it was real, that those people were actually murdered in the woods by a witch. Would me calling it a well-crafted hoax be me falling for the hoax?

You tell me.

At the end of the day who knows.. He might have been trying to create a meme to get his 15 mins of nationwide free awareness being basically a generic_01 congress person. Could be all self serving... It also could be he is making a joke of the whole impeachment event, we all know its a joke, and we all know they will impeach him no matter what, so his actions no matter the reason really screams a WHO CARES? attitude no matter how anyone wants to spin this. WHO CARES? no one in that chamber.

Edit to add:

I actually don't blame him... What would you do if you had to watch the The Blair Witch Project over and over for 14 hours knowing the ending long before the first time you watched it.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that. It's the comfortable option. Who wants to admit to being toyed with? Better to ignore logic and assume that someone attending a nationally televised event would forget there are cameras recording everything happening in the room.

Definitely possible considering one of the Democrats thought Guam could tip over.

Politicians toy with us all the time. How dismissive of other people's intelligence are you?

In this case though I will repeat what I said to you earlier.

You give these clowns too much credit.

I don't think it helps the liberals with public opinion, do you? If you think about it...28% of voters voted for Hillary and 27% voted for Trump. That leaves 44% that didn't want either...What do you think that 44% are going to do when they see a Liberal Congress person watch golf as they debate removal of the President?

It's not in my head. I'm in a thread I saw and clicked on. That's the point of reading threads in a forum.

I'm guessing the Reuters guy knew he was being recorded when he took pictures of those documents, too. He only looked around to throw everyone off.

You can spin this however you want to, but it's glaringly obvious that democrats are as stupid, or blatantly oblivious, as their childish impeachment games.

What about the videos we've all seen in the past of members watching porn or anything else that has nothing to do with their job, or the ones casting votes for their absent colleagues, or picking their noses etc..?
They all knew the room was full of cameras and they were being watched yet they still got caught.

Also, I said I didn't really want to # on you but your view on this (to me) makes it hard not to, so there is no feeling of being superior here and there certainly is no triggering. In my mind I was exercising my logic, not denying it.

To answer your question though

Was he so dumb that he forgot that the whole hearing is being watched by millions of people worldwide, picking apart every little detail possible?

Yes. I do think that or at the very least it slipped his mind.
Bottom line to me is, it most definitely wasn't planned and he most certainly wasn't instructed to do this.

Have you ever watched a hearing? If so, tell me how many times we ever see things from that angle. Dude wasn't smart enough to stir the pot, he was too dumb to know a camera was behind him.

This is what we always see.

You're working under the assumption that people in Washington care what their constituents think of them. If that were the case thei wouldn't be politicians. They will get their money regardless of whether you like them or not.

Perspectives can gain or lose votes very quickly. Doesn't means the perspectives are actually reality or true. What this guy did doesn't help him or his party in any way and at the end of the day 28% might say HELL YA! but that leaves a lot more saying WTF.
