In watching all the impeachment hearings, I was confused...
Confused as to why Pelosi would spend so much political capital on an effort(impeachment) which has no chance to pass the Senate...
Then it hit me..

The Democrats have timed this precisely...imho they will vote to impeach in the Congress then shut down the government...
This is the fight for their political lives and the democrats will stop at nothing to retain power...regardless of how their behavior will derail our Republic...

I am sickened by watching the greatest government in the history of man turn into a pathetic liberal game of process...

It’s maddening and will have consequences of great import...

This is my opinion of what they are planning...
What is y’all?
Am I wrong on my guess?

Here's one thought that's been kicking around in my head...

The majority Dem House will vote for impeachment. It will be moved to the Senate. The majority Pub Senate will take an immediate vote which will show that such an overwhelming number of Senators are already decided to acquit Trump of charges that no trial is even necessary and would simply be a waste of time. The Dems can then campaign against Trump as having been impeached, and Pub senate candidates as refusing to do their duty by ignoring the House's impeachment and giving Trump a free pass.

I'm not stuck on this. It's just a thought.

If that’s what happens, pretty much every President after Trump will also be impeached. Impeachment will be a new campaign strategy for the opposing party.

Trump wants a trial.
I think the Senate will let him have his trial, just to bring all of that Dem stink out into the open.

I briefly peeked at them just now. Nadler looks extra stressed and guilty today.

All the democrats were marching in lock step with their heads held high to the glorious vision of finally removing Orange Man Bad! On their way there, everyone of them stepped in dog sh!t, some with both feet. Now, they want to clean the mess off their feet and faces to get out of town and not stay for the end of this fiasco. I'm afraid that when the dems realize that there is no way out, and nothing they can do will put lipstick on this pig, they will all drink Saki and become Kamikazes. The more sane Dems who want out are afraid of being Arkancided. IMHO, this is the end of the Democratic Communist Socialist Party !! Yaaaayy !!!!

We should all be very observant and keep looking for things out of place or unusual and if You See Something (Immediately) Say Something !!

I hope they do and drag it out for the entire election year. Trump won’t even have to campaign, since we will have nonstop dirt on the left.

Just my opinion. . . .

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg is dying and will be gone in 6 to 8 weeks.

Once Trump nominates a replacement, the Supreme Court won't be in a position to join in the leftists plans for destroying the Constitution.

So they're trying to oust him now before she kicks off.

As for Pence? He's establishment and/or they have enough on him so he'd play ball with the leftists.

That's a very real possibility. I don't think we can even imagine the full consequences of this sham. Some no doubt intended, but it's those unintended consequences that sneak up and bite us in the arse.

Foreign policy and foreign relations in general have already taken a huge hit in practice and effect. How much will foreign leaders trust the confidentiality of their discussions with our president? How much faith will they have in any treaties they sign with us if others can impeach the president for executing the terms of the treaties?

I pretty much agree with you here. That is unless...

Unless there are more level headed Dems in the party who will not go with the flow and will not vote for impeachment. THAT is what I am waiting to see.

From your keyboard to God's ears... I would absolutely love to see a trial happen. I know Trump has stated he wants one too. I just don't think McConnell will let it happen. Too much potential damage to the swamp, and McConnell is one of the scummiest of the scummy swamp creatures. McConnell will use procedure to purportedly "support" Trump, will really protecting the swamp.

But I sure hope you're right and I'm wrong about this!!!

Exactly, and that doesn’t even scratch the surface of unintended consequences. I’d say that would be on the bottom of the totem pole. Spying on presidential candidates, altering legal documents, tapping their lawyers phones, targeting journalists, ruining Patriots lives that want to serve said presidents using the legal system to destroy their image and destroy them financially, and wasting the crap out of taxpayer dollars that could be used for a multitude of different critical things.

Is it correct that each witness must be approved by a Senate majority? (51 yes votes)

Me too. I am cautiously hopeful that a significant number of Dems will go rogue (so to speak). I'm not sure it would be enough to make a difference. Time will tell. But there's a huge crack in the Democratic party, and this may be what splits it wide open. At least for some Dem Reps.

And I don't think it would hurt any of them at the ballot box. Exactly the opposite.

The Dem defections from Pelosi's impeachment sham are continuing.

Rep. Van Drew showed his wisdom last night: www.usatoday.com...

Yup, and even that isn't the full extent of the damage this has (and will) wrought. This is a new low. It makes me so angry that I just go cold and hard inside. I don't even know how to explain it!

I will wait and see how this plays out fully before I judge the Dems as a whole though. More than a few have expressed concerns, if not outright outrage. So we may see more objections and refusing to tow the line from within the party. I hope so.

But I truly feel that this is really about protecting the criminally corrupt guilty few from the consequences of a thorough Ukraine investigation. They are using the channels open to them under the guise of party and partisanship, but it's really to protect the criminally guilty.

And I do believe Republicans would be caught up in the same criminal corruption if the truth were known, so those Pubs would be quite happy to support the Dem's public efforts from behind the scenes.

Boadicea, I hope your wrong too.

I am pretty much on the same page as the rest of you so far.

As democrats disintegrate, who do you suppose will rise from the ashes? Seems an unfair advantage then for Republicans. Of which I am one. But I want real honest voting for the issues my country faces. The representation of All of us.
