What? I never said any of that. Again you're so fanatic about numbers. What's the fascination? Do you not understand the social complications of such a concentrated wealth?

Could you get a job at hq2?

I was just pointing out how just because the alternative is worse that doesn't mean everything smells like roses. No one was saying that slavery and working at Amazon can be compared 1:1.

You let the free market decide.

You don't play crony capitalism by letting government choose who wins and who loses by offering sweetheart deals.

I get it.

I still think that we shouldn't be cutting breaks for corporations that rake in billions in profit per year.

This is my opinion.

That is one of the most kindergarten-like memes I've ever seen. Equivalent to calling someone a "poopy head" on the playground.

Coming from you, ahhaha...

Everyone wants the Amazon HQ. Whoever has the best offer gets it. This was not the government helping Amazon win. The incentives were a drop in the bucket to offset upfront expenses.

It's apparent that democrats are en entirely different type of individuals. as different as Russians or Americans or blacks and whites or male from females. They have sold out to the dark side and think nothing of corruption as an acceptable lifestyle. In a decade they have fallen to the bottom morally, spiritually, economically and mindset wise.

ATS at its finest, just wow, it is 2019 is it not, I must have slipped back into the 1950s when i read this post

Actually that doesn't even make sense...lol

What is this free market thingy you speak of when we are talking about what state a company goes to? So Amazon decides not to go to NY who is the other company that will take their place if they decide not to go? Plus EVERY state has their own unique system, so I'm not sure what is pissing you off here with this.

It seems you are trying to say that a coffee shop with 4 employees is the same as a company that is willing to bring 25,000 employees while having no clue to what it all means as to what taxes they might get a break from for a few years.

I can't wait until the day I show up with her at my parents house and announce there is a grandchild on the way.

It honestly looks like a meme that a kindergartener would make and find clever.

Maybe that's your kind of "comedy" though, more power to you in that case.

There are plenty of things that are legal that are morally questionable. Amazon treats its workers like anything but human beings. Like I said, maybe AOC did her district a favor in a way.

The sad thing is that people would have called this a "win" for the community if Amazon came in and hired a bunch of people and then promptly treated them like disposable trash.

Jobs are more important than happiness apparently.

I'm sure there are many happy employees of Amazon. They employ over 600,000 people worldwide.

But don't worry. Their automation is expanding so there may be less unhappy... errr…. I mean jobs in the future.

Which they can afford. This is nothing more than offering big business a sweetheart deal.

Corporate socialism.

So Amazon, who was going to NYC bringing 25,000 jobs and annual tax revenue of $1billion (half state and half city), pulled out because of AOC because she was mad Amazon wanted $3 billion in tax breaks. They would have broke even in just a few years and ended with a $24 billion windfall over 30 years. They lost all that. Those jobs were all in AOC's district too.

Last summer, Ocasio-Cortez waged war against Amazon after the retail giant struck a deal with the state of New York to open a second headquarters in New York City, which would have brought 25,000 jobs to the city, in exchange for $3 billion in state and local subsidies. Ultimately, Amazon backed out of the deal.

Amazon is bringing 1500 office jobs to NYC, but outside her district. This is something that had nothing to do with the HQ deal and would likely have happened anyways.

However, it was reported Friday that Amazon was leasing a 335,000-square-foot office space in Manhattan that is set to bring more than 1,500 jobs into the city.

"Won’t you look at that: Amazon is coming to NYC anyway - *without* requiring the public to finance shady deals, helipad handouts for Jeff Bezos, & corporate giveaways," Ocasio-Cortez said. "Maybe the Trump admin should focus more on cutting public assistance to billionaires instead of poor families."

She also posted a picture of herself sitting on the couch with the caption: "Me waiting on the haters to apologize after we were proven right on Amazon and saved the public billions."

www.foxnews.com...

Somehow she thinks she won by costing NY a billion dollar a year revenue stream because Amazon is still bringing a few jobs (6% of the HQ deal) to NY. Her constituents will not see any benefit of this deal either, the people who voted her into office are still complete losers here.

Yep. As usual, a democrat taking credit for something they never did. I seem to remember a certain former President taking credit for our current economy too...
