Elon Musk has been found not liable in a defamation case involving a British cave explorer he called a 'pedo guy' on Twitter.

Well, this is a surprise. I thought for sure Musk would fork over some serious change, for smearing British cave rescuer Vern Unsworth.

Unsworth referred to Musk’s plans as a “PR stunt” and told Musk he could “stick his submarine where it hurts.” There was no way Musk's submarine plan would've worked and I can understand Unsworth getting ticked off. Doesn't give Musk the right to defame the guy, by calling him a “Pedo Guy.”

On Friday, a federal court in California heard that Unsworth - one of the hero divers who rescued 12 boys and their soccer coach from the cave - was left feeling 'humiliated, ashamed, [and] dirtied,' by billionaire's tweet.

However, a jury sided with Musk after his lawyers argued it was no more than a playground insult and did not represent an actual allegation of pedophilia.

Following news of the verdict, Musk told DailyMail.com: 'My faith in humanity is restored.'

The judge is free to make Unsworth pay Musk’s costs but could also rule that Musk has to pay his own.

I am glad Musk walks.....the Pedo guy wouldn't get anywhere near any kids in my Family....and if I found out he worked anywhere near kids in my neck of the woods me and the boys would be promoting him along his way...PERIOD....I melt Snowflakes with my breath and dissolve Rainbows with my Flatulence...…..I am no friend of Pedos or Pedo Pals......I don't like Snowflakes or Rainbows....and the MAJORITY of the people I know feel as I do....no spindoctoring or social media salesjobs where I come from......the majority speak they don't get shut-up by misrepresentative politics.... it is what it is.

Even so, most people who are aware of Thailand being a bustling hotbed for the underage sex trade are going to raise an eyebrow at and be a bit suspicious/wary of foreigners jumping to do anything there. It just...smells to high hell. It's a stigma of the country & its culture, yes, but it's a damn seedy one that deserves the wariness.

Edit: And I'm referring to the DIY/in person level kind of help, rather than the sending in useless machinery kind. The sub was a stupid idea indeed, but leave the firsthand rescuing to locals. It just doesn't look right otherwise.

I am glad he walked though, just for the fact that it delt a blow to the pc woke culture. Thailand is a super seedy place no doubt, I don't know a lot about "pedo guy" but maybe musk knows something I don't.

But musk is no Saint himself, he's rode this electric car, green energy thing ad nauseum. If people really want good, practical electric cars, they need to stop investing in the cars and start investing in the batteries. Look up solid state batteries, now there's a revolutionary idea.
