cnn doesn't www.cnn.com... N&utm_term=link&fbclid=IwAR3t-mzzywbsf3YwZHpOJlXz_dQggYqmhIBeGEE0JWctoIuXYCJrPa5GhRU

(CNN)The latest economic numbers -- 266,000 jobs created in November, unemployment at a 50-year low -- make one thing very clear: President Donald Trump has a path to win a second term next year. Yes, you can quibble about whether the strong November report or the upward revisions in job gains for the last two months or the broader upswing in the economy is due to Trump and his policies. But what we know -- both from our political history and more recent polling -- is that presidents get credit when the economy is strong and blame when it is weak.
so economy good for trump and its staying good despite estimates to the contrary

then this snippit from above source

In 2016, 52% said the economy was the most pressing issue in the country, according to exit polling. Terrorism placed second on that list with just 18% saying it was the most critical issue. In the 2012 presidential election, almost six in 10 voters (59%) said that the economy was the most important issue. More than six in 10 (63%) named the economy as the most important issue in the country in the 2008 election. So given that voters care most -- by a lot -- about the economy, it makes sense that if they believe a President is doing a good job on the economy they are inclined to reelect that person to keep it going.Which would suggest that Trump is going to cruise to a second term
so the old phrase "its the economy stupid" comes to mind which will be trumps ace in the hole according to the article that says trump is gonna cruise to a second term assuming he can stay on point and hammer that point home

www.cnn.com... s

(CNN)When the global elite are aligned against him and laughing like the immature cool kids you hated in middle school, President Donald Trump is winning. When the liberal law professors are neglecting their Thanksgiving turkeys to read congressional transcripts and snarking about Trump's 13-year old son, Trump is winning. When the politicians are mad — so mad that they have shut down all policymaking to impeach the President of the United States on what constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley called "wafer thin" evidence —Trump is winning. You have to remember: Donald Trump wasn't elected to fit in with these people — the political, intellectual class -- to make them happy, or to become one of them. He was elected to break them. And that's apparently what he's done.
so cue comparisons to daneris targarian comparisons (hopefully with out the fire and blood of the last season) hes not here to stay on top of the wheel hes here to break it, crush their sprits and and fix the problems he sees in the system and hopefully fix it or at least remove some of the negative aspects

from same source in regards to the impeachment shenanigans

And honestly, that's just fine with Trump's supporters. What better evidence is there that you've shaken Washington to its core when the minders of a system you've come to despise are leveling the gravest punishment the system permits against the very President who is doing the shaking up? We can lawyer this to death, but for many Americans this comes down to a simple observation -- Trump said he was going to rattle their cages, and by golly they seem rattled. Trump's supporters have known since election night that this day would eventually come. After all, his sworn enemies have been openly promising it since before he was sworn into office! They've used words like "resistance," "coup," "insurance policy," and "impeachment" so often that, now that they are actually doing it, the American people — and Republicans especially — are offering a collective yawn. Rueful analysts stare into television cameras, lamenting and wondering why Republicans aren't fleeing from the President over the impeachment hearings (he stands at 90% approval among his party in the latest Gallup poll). But there won't be massive convulsions in public opinion because everyone has known for three years what was going to happen.

and one final snippit

But political party leaders almost always do what the bulk of their party's supporters want them to. Republicans — no matter how moderate — got in line to cut taxes and confirm an avalanche of conservative judges because that's what their activists expected. And what have Democrats wanted more than anything since Trump's election? Since the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh? Since Trump made Twitter his private channel to the electorate? Since the Mueller probe? Since the Trump Hotel story? Since questions over Jared Kushner's security clearance? Since...you name it? The answer is obvious: to undo the 2016 election by any means necessary. It's a political itch that had to be scratched, and Pelosi could hold off her tormented partisans no longer.
hes been raising millions of dollars for the RNC since impeachment began ,the senate stands behind him, and his party is mostly in lock step.

the dems seem to know that its NOT looking good in 2020 even with the bevvy of dem candidates still running and jockeying for either cabinet or in Harris case a VP slot but what is increasingly looking like it could be a brokered convention for team D in 2020

time.com... time source for his fund raising

www.usatoday.com... usa today article from november talks about trump rallying his base and his supporters plus the differences between clintons and his (spoilers clinton had many more of his own party skeptical compared to trumps mostly unified front

Currently, only a few Republicans have publicly voiced concerns about Trump's conduct. When Clinton was battling impeachment "we probably had 50-75 people who we were worried about,” Steve Elmendorf, chief of staff to Democratic House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt as impeachment moved through the House in 1998, said of Democrats then.
so a few possible wobblers in trumps case but 50-75 clinton had to worry about

www.vox.com... meanwhile vox from october seems to have lost faith in the impeachment process and now is hoping "mass demonstrations and "resistance" are whats needed to stop trump ,not the courts not impeachment just angry yelling and marching which to me at least smacks of a desperate resistance knowing 2020 is not looking good

Mass popular resistance helped check Trump before and has been instrumental to removing corrupt leaders abroad. If Democrats are serious about the threat they say Trump poses, they need to encourage its return.
the key difference between what those "resistance" groups pulled off vs what they want to do to trump is that trump has the support of between 85-90 percent of his party and voters and depending on poll cited 45-50ish% of the population in a MUCH more polarized political climate.

ballotpedia.org... source for 2020 fund raising with only one dem group having no debt and zero republican comittees with any debt having trouble formatting and quoting the chart

but DNC 74.4 million receipts, disbursements 75.4 million, cash on hand 8.7million with 7.04 million in debt

compare that to RNC 194.01 receipts,Disbursements 156.13 million ,cash on hand 61.38 million ,and ZERO debt owed

i wont go down the chart but only the DCCC has raised more money then its republican counter part and is debt free but if you total it all up this is what you get

team R 318.801491 million receipts ,Disbursements 261.688865million ,cash on hand 104.677322 million, and most importantly debt 0 accross the board for all 3 committees

team D 225.604633 million Receipts,Disbursements 177.3389 million ,cash on hand 69.77688 million , now here is where the debt numbers for team d eclipse team r 16.93914 million in debts

across the board the republicans are generally out raising the dems and doing it with out debts ,and this is just the main committees not the SUPERPACS

www.opensecrets.org... here is the super pacs sorted by group viewpoint

conservative =10.1 million, Other 608k,Liberal 6.4million ,If you group by ALL it looks much worse for the dems

conservative 23.4 ,Other 2.2 million, liberal 11.7

and its still a little under a year away from the election and you can start to see why the dems may be pushing so hard for impeachment they are getting out spent and the bulk of trumps base isnt moving based on the impeachment hearings .hes had at least 20 rallies in 2019 and has many more scheduled for 2020 so hes basically the republicans golden goose and has been in constant campaigning mode since before election and his presidency (like bill clinton did during his terms) and unlike the dems he does not have to worry about split donations between multiple candidates like the dems do who have i think 15? left and 14 that have dropped out en.wikipedia.org...

fivethirtyeight.com... and unlike trumps base the dems have a bit more unruly base who is much more likely to be offended at the various gaffes and or mistakes their canidates may make like this 538 article talks about

How Did The Democrats End Up With A 2020 Field So White And Male?
and with the bulk of the survivors so to speak being older then dem's tend to prefer (republicans often favor older while the dems favor younger statistically) ,Sanders had either a heart attack or a heart "episode" the front runner Biden is increasingly Gaffe prone and well as seemingly increasingly stressed out by everything he has going on ,and warren being mostly stabilized as far as her numbers go but has angered both wall street and big tech which has lead to a small reversal in the polls
www.cnbc.com...

“Meanwhile, we believe much could happen between then (mid/late October) and call it second quarter into third quarter of 2020,” he wrote. “The past six or so weeks have seen a prominent reversal in Warren’s momentum and a corresponding ascent of the XLV as well as more sector-specific indices.”
so going after wall street and healthcare simultaneously seems to have hampered warren the number 3 dem in the race

now an admittedly older article from the atlantic seems to say that 80% of Americans are not fans of political correctness which seems to be leading to a mine field the dems not republicans will have to navigate as regardless of your views on trump no one thinks he is known for his political correctness reason.com...

Except among a tiny minority of far-left Americans, political correctness (P.C.) is deeply unpopular. Some 80 percent of people said they viewed P.C. excess as a problem.
but i dont think they have done a new poll since 2018

brownpoliticalreview.org... this was the closest i could find to recent times covering the issue

so depending on how many voters get impeachment fatigue and or are either angered by impeachment or bolstered by it along with my above wall of text go to show why trump may very well have been baiting them into it

www.sportsbettingdime.com... the bookies dont seem to think he will be impeached and removed though

Three different sportsbooks are offering odds on President Trump being impeached and removed from office Bovada (+600) and BetOnline (+550) have big payouts on “Yes” MyBookie (-265) is by far the shortest on the “No”

and here is how emmerson scores it for independents emersonpolling.com...

A new Emerson poll finds President Trump’s approval has increased in the last month with 48% approval and 47% disapproval, a bounce from 43% approval in the last Emerson National poll in October. Support for impeachment has flipped since October from 48% support with 44% opposing to now 45% opposed and 43% in support. The biggest swing is among Independents, who oppose impeachment now 49% to 34%, which is a reversal from October where they supported impeachment 48% to 39%.
so with dems loosing independents support for independents will that translate to how they will vote in 2020? guess we have to wait tell then to find out but as far as impeachment goes its not looking good for the dems if that swing does translate in to 2020 votes more so if the economy holds up

Dems are stupid, erratic, and their hatred has made them very easy to bait. Trump has been playing them since day one and they have been going berserk and abusing their powers for the world to see, while Trump and the Patriot are collected dirt and crimes in the background.

It will be a joy-est day for when they are indicted they are making it very easy for the investigators.

another slight advantage trump has in 2020 vs 2016 is gary johnson is sitting this one one so less of a chance of "splitting votes" in key battle ground states but that is some what lessened by Howard shultz sitting this one out as he would have in theory siphoned off some votes from dem candidates ,but i guess those wanting to do protest votes this time around can always vote for Vermin supreme graphics.wsj.com... ancient link from july 2016 that was implying gary Johnson would help clinton take votes from trump and we know how that turned out and with the only other major independent that's not bernie sanders (hes running in dem primaries) is the CEO of dicks sporting goods whos not likely to get many republican votes what with his gun control platform

. I'm sure you remember how much of a hard-on R's had for Obama. If he did anything out of the norm, he would've been impeached too. But he wasn't which means they had nothing on him, which means he did nothing unbecoming of the office

What a steaming pile of horse sh!t.

Obama was crooked as f#ck. The only difference is that he was the "Black" messiah.

Again, you're a troll and you know it.

Trump isn't "my guy", he's just a troll that happens to be very entertaining.

Impeaching him will speak volumes even if they dont remove him.
Don't fool yourself.
This is not a good thing. It will now be his legacy that he was one of only four presidents whos behavior was thought so bad they wanted to remove them from office.

If you say this game of “chess” was to pit house v senate as it pertains to impeachment. I think this is a pretty lame show. Do you really believe in qanon? What specifically has qanon ever been right about?a reply to: dashen

he will wear it like a badge of honor and when the senate clears him he will gloat all the way to a 2020 victory while he uses it to rally his base and for fund raising and it seems to even be currying him votes from independents that are getting "impeachment fatigue"

thehill.com...

New public opinion polls are moving against Democrats on impeachment as independents sour on the House inquiry and increasingly express opposition to the hearings that have consumed Washington in recent weeks. The new data comes as a surprise to Democrats, many of whom believe witnesses have offered damning testimony about President Trump’s dealings with Ukraine.
so yeah good luck with that your playing Right in to trumps hands

projects.fivethirtyeight.com... note the independents on the chart either more against or at best an even tie
www.cnbc.com...

3. This helps Trump… a little. The White House and several Trump supporters have been arguing that the impeachment process is solidifying the president’s chances at re-election. Their argument is that the Democrats are coming off as vindictive and derelict in their duties as lawmakers by focusing on attacking Trump. That seems a little too optimistic. But what is demonstrably true is that a good section of President Trump’s loyal base has indeed been fired up. The Trump re-election campaign has been using the impeachment as an excuse to ask for more donations and online engagement, and by all accounts it’s paying off. One can argue that added funds don’t make a major difference for an incumbent president who already has the power of his office and Air Force One to spread his message across the world. But it doesn’t hurt.

www.washingtontimes.com...

Meanwhile: “Support for impeachment has flipped since October from 48% support with 44% opposing to now 45% opposed and 43% in support,” Emerson reported. Marquette University Law School’s survey, conducted November 13 through November 17, found an even greater opposition to impeachment.
and that is even before the senate gets to put on its own show like the democrats have been doing with there's,they get to call witnesses and as an added bounus all the campaigning dems in the senate have to be in attendance for every day except sunday when it starts ,would be such a shame if they have to stop campaigning and perhaps even go to the debates because they have to stay in the senate ,the next dem debate will happen before that on dec 19th but with a debate scheduled for January 2020 unless they do it on a sunday it may be hard for the dems to well show up during the senate impeachment hearings , and if old turtle decides to draw out the process so we can keep it going into feb when the next debate after January is scheduled well again would be such a shame if the senate dem's cant attend

but hey then it might not look as white as it seems as its going to www.theatlantic.com...

With Kamala Harris’s unexpected departure from the presidential race Tuesday, the lineup of the next primary debate has become something the Democratic Party as a whole decidedly is not: all white. With Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang yet to qualify, and Cory Booker and Julían Castro unlikely to, the debate stage will be notably lacking in ethnic diversity. For a political party—and a country—whose minority population is growing, this is a problem. How did we go from a debate stage early last summer that was the most diverse in history to a race where all the leading candidates are white?
which is a pretty big deal to most dems what with "muh diversity" their base is so fond of even with out the senate impeachment trial may give the democratic base pause in 2020 as do minorities want another old white person to win while their minority candidates seem to be getting disqualified from the debates while old whitey keeps sailing by and qualifying? throw in trump doing better in 2016 with minorities then most republicans normally do(and even white women as per the young turks freak out youtube video) they may just be surprised when those voters go to trump based on the booming economy . hell im biracial (Mexican and white) and he had my vote last time and sure as hell will have it again

pretty much a loud vocal minority and just as an aside has any one noticed since 2016 only the liberal news sites have "please donate to help the media etc" banners on pretty much all of the hedders on the news sites(to be fair i haven't seen donation signs on cnn) but perhaps this is why the dems are running low on funds as they already gave it to the media?

Are you trying to say that the Mueller report didn't prove that Trump, and his campaign, were Putin's useful idiots?

Trump was proven to be innocent of all Russian Collusion accusations. So yeah, Mueller and everything he said was BS.

This guy here though (Obama) was never charged or even suspected by the biased Liberal Media, but here's hardcore evidence of him telling the outgoing Russian President, to tell the incoming President Putin that after he wins the 2nd election that he will have more "flexibility". He wanted to wait after the election, because were the American people to know that he was going to collude with Russia, he would not win the election, therefore what he is saying here to the Russian President is essentially, "The American people would not approve of what I am doing with you guys, but after I win my 2nd election, it won't matter because I'll already be in office."

This is blatant, in your face, collusion with Russia on camera. Yet, no one charged this jackass. Just imagine how you Liberals would freak out, if you actually saw video of Trump saying that to the Russian President. The Impeachment may have actually wored...and that's exactly what should have been done with Obama the Russian Colluder. Why are Liberals so hypocritical? Everything Liberals accuse others of, is ALWAYS something that they are in fact, doing themselves. Everything they have accused Trump of...they are the ones doing it and just pointing the finger. What is wrong with you people? So childish.

Obviously.

Trump is Putin's puppet, and destabilizing the US pollical system is their goal. Trump is just Putin's useful idiot.

Why would Putin want a stronger NATO?

Ah, I love the smell of rhetorical questions in the morning!

Oh certainly not rhetorical. I'm genuinely curious as to how a stronger NATO plays into Puppet Master Putin's schemes.

A stronger NATO is not demonstrable; it just a waste of money and intelligence resources.

Well, the Mueller report basically cleared Trump's inner circle of conspiracy, because they were just too dumb to pull it off.

Then, Bill Barr, basically. cleared Trump for obstruction of justice, because he was just so frustrated with the whole witch hunt that his obstruction was justified.

none of this makes any sense.

Believing in any political party is lunacy. Saying you are a right or a left, same as saying you are liberal or conservative. All that choosing a side does is puts your entire world view in a tiny box, which that box and your tiny brain are fully controlled by the programmers of the MATRIX. After 8 years of Trump, we will all be begging for Obama to come back. Looking for any truth in a Google search, to validate any point??? Again....LUNACY.......Cant fix stupid...8(....No politician will save anyone in the serf class. Believing in Trump, or believing in any politician is only turning off your thinking cap and allowing the hive mentality to put your brain on cruise control. Trump is bought and paid for, or he would be dead, 100%. His cabinet and top leaders are military industrial complex and banksters....nothing more....and then to believe the economy is getting better, and you are trusting federal agencies to report these figures? Or Google? My God, have you people lost your minds? I honestly dont think the majority of people on this forum can handle the real truth? If so, they would not post "facts" from known compromised sources. When the water gets so hot that your frog skin melts off your pathetic body, will you then turn around and see the light?
