why is there so much angry energy at the Democrats for what their doing.

because they are setting more precedents that will be used by the majority when they don't have the power they want

right now, there is no CLEAR evidence the president committed a crime
that is very important imo for this process to be used
trump is a jackass, but the house dems are showing themselves to be much worse; and the reason I would add that trump won office
instead of attempting to work with the person the voters selected they are attempting another shortcut
instead of having an actual process we got adam schiff reading a "parody" of what is to be considered "evidence" of a crime

make no mistake, this in no way endears the gop to me, nor will a sham dismissal of this by the senate; but imo that is where this is headed
imo this is a bastardized use of our government and constitution; that does make me angry
it is a lazy half assed attempt by the house dems to overturn an election they lost and no more

I just want to point out that to outright dismiss something that is an obvious sham could never be considered a sham itself.

You are inferring intent.

Indeed. This whole charade is really just a public opinion poll on intent though, so I believe it's relevant.

But you have to prove, to validate intent in order to convict.

Once this goes to Senate, you know they can call on Hunter Biden, Adam Schiff, Joe Biden and so many others to testify under oath.... this will be fun to watch... I got my popcorn, do you have yours? Democrats made their bed, now they must push forward in an attempt to save face... this will be wonderfully disastrous for the left!!! lol

And which type of intent it was. There's more than one.

But alas it's not a real court of law.

It's the GD spanish inquistion lead by zealots.

The process is not intended to be such.

BTW
why would they feel the need to have "knowledgeable" people testify that they can impeach the president?
they can for whatever reason they like as they get to determine what treason bribery high crimes and misdemeanors actually mean
seems similar imo to what the catholic church used to do before gutenburg came along

Yes, but its the 'proving' that's contentious, insomuch as its effectively just a decision made by the Senate.

For example, lets say I have an orange in my hand, and I say its an apple and sell it to you for twice the cost of what an orange is. You feel slightly after discovering you've paid to much, and seek redress among a jury of your peers. Unfortunately for you, those 'peers' are all members of my family and are therefore compelled to 'believe' my admission that the apple I sold you was actually an orange colored apple and priced correctly.

In essence, its not a determination made by some scientist in a lab who is 100% certain of what kind of fruit it is, because the data doesn't make the judgement but rather the jury of peers. Just like in 1984, as long as you control whoever makes the decisions, facts are irrelevant and truth is derived by the opinion of those in power.

To summarize because the Senate is controlled by Republicans, they will rule that none of the evidence proves intent. If the Senate was Democratically controlled they would rule the opposite.

Except he asked after the Crowdstrike Server which had dick to do with Biden, the Ukrainians were unaware the aid was held up, and Trump didn't mention that at all - no, do this or you'll never get that aid ... -, and Trump mentioned checking into the Biden thing as an afterthought, not the main point at all.

And Biden had not announced and was still swearing he wasn't going to run. Must be awesome to insulated from investigation in international corruption merely by being a big name democrat who might run for high office.

I think we all know this a ploy for the left to blanket the news-cycle with Impeachment talk/conversation/opinion, as the IG report drops on Monday... This is them getting ahead of it, trying to shape the narrative, because they will use it as a defense once criminal referrals begin rolling out... If everyone is talking Impeachment (by design), they can give the IG Horowitz report little to no coverage..

I think they should tie in all the Democrat candidates using whatever shady tactics needed. That way we can get a negative campaign against them as well since that's the purpose of this impeachment against Trump. This isn't about preventing the abuse of power, it's about influencing the 2020 election. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows it.

The TRUTH will defeat you.

Uh, I'm kind of confused. There's ample evidence (and several admissions as well) that Trump was angling for Ukraine to investigate Biden.

Additionally, Biden not having declared running is a bit vacuous because he was polling highest of any of the 'potential' candidates, had made many informal comments insinuating he was going to run, and was unanimously viewed as the Dem frontrunner at that time.

True.

I wonder if just officially calling for impeachment is cause to prohibit the release of the IG report since items inside the report may be pertinent to the impeachment act.

They don't have to do that.

Cocaine Mitch just has to drag it out and declare that every last senator running has to be there for every single minute of the trial.

Won't it be awesome if they have a day where they bring academic in language experts to testify to the meanings of words in a parody of yesterday's hearing?

Yes, what the Democrats are doing as far as this impeachment process is concerned is a big sham.

What I meant was it wouldn't be a sham to dismiss a sham. How could it be?

McConnel should issue a media blackout during the Senate Trial.

That way D's can't go spin their bull crap.

All those Democratic Senators running for POTUS must now SUSPEND their campaigns .... I hope it drags on for months now exposing every Deepstate operative possible lol

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves as the articles of Impeachment haven't even been drawn up yet for the House to vote on them.

I'm betting that Schiff and Pelosi set this up so that it goes to vote, fails by a very small margin to move forward, so that they don't look as humiliated as they would be if it goes to the Senate for a trial. There's no way around calling Schiff as a witness on his possible underhanded role in the whistle blower complaint.

By invoking articles of impeachment the Dems may have painted themselves into a corner in more ways than one. They must specifically name alleged offenses. This could hamper their efforts to get years of financial records from Trump. SCOTUS was clear during the Nixon years that Congress may have any and all records and items related to offenses alleged. It's really hard to ask for years of financial records from Trump when the alleged misconduct occured in the most recent year. And it's going to be even harder to convince the SCOTUS that financial records from before that period are relevant.

I think so... Think about it like this, if the IG report drops before Articles of Impeachment are drawn up, too much of the public will be skeptical, beacuse they will see/understand the abuses that happened against Trump & his campaign, which would immediately put everything in doubt. They had to get ahead of the report, which is why this impeachment process/inquiry is happening at record speed, as the left completely ignores the fact that Nancy stated multiple times "we will not draw articles of impeachement unless we have bi-partisan support", due to the decisiveness of Impeachment and what it does to the country.... Nancy is a walking contradiction, like most of the left...

They should do both. I'd make this such a circus that no party would ever think of impeaching a president to influence an election again.
