Ramush Haradinaj, the prime minister of Kosovo announced his resignation today shortly after being indicted by the United Nations war crimes tribunal
at the Hague. He was a senior commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Haradinaj nominated political ally Bajram Kosumi to take over as prime
minister.

"I received an official indictment today. I am among the indicted," the 36-year-old former guerrilla commander told reporters at the headquarters
of Kosovo's interim government for the province, in the capital Pristina.
The U.N. war crimes tribunal at the Hague confirmed it had charged Haradinaj, but declined to give details.
