Japan has signed an agreement to buy Mageshima Island from Taston Airport, who owns 99% of the island. The cost will be $146M. Negotiations broke off in May, after a new president took over. Informal negotiations began again last month, and in light of the financial difficulties the company is facing, they had no choice but to move forward with the sale. The island will initially be used for US Navy pilots to train for carrier operations. Eventually, it will also be a Self Defense Force base to shore up the islands off Kyushu.

The government has finally reached agreement in principle to purchase an uninhabited island in southwestern Japan for use as a training site for U.S. aircraft carrier-based aircraft as well as the Self-Defense Forces.

Several government sources, as well as those with the company that owns a large portion of Mageshima island south of Kagoshima Prefecture, confirmed that a sales agreement was close to completion. The purchase price is about 16 billion yen ($146 million).

The purchase is in line with an agreement reached eight years ago in which Japan promised to provide the U.S. military with a training site after moving landing practice from Iwoto island, once more commonly known as Iwojima, south of Tokyo.

Not at all where I thought it was.

So what happens after 8 years?

Japan is officially American 52nd state. The population is already dying from the lack of breeding. Wait til Japan be replaced by Americans.

They need to invade China for more women just like the last two Sino-Jap wars. Japanese women are no good. Oh wait, China is lacking women this time. Which country is next? Must steal all those Asian women!

You're reading it wrong. The agreement happened 8 years ago. This is the result.
