If you want to take a drive and just relax you better go on a side country road.

Sorry, those backwoods county roads are quickly being plugged in. We still have a few dirt roads on private property that they haven't connected yet, but I have no doubt that that too will change.

Welcome to the Matrix.

It goes a little deeper than that.

How much of our debt do they hold now?

How much have we paid them back?

When was the last time we made good on our debt? How much was exchange in collateral?

China is a lot more than a business partner and it doesn't stop at our shores.

Can't you hear all those prison camps filling up?

Sounds like someone's getting ready to thin out the herds.

And you can't run or hide any more.

Finding that one house that is unplugged or off the grid, is easier than trying to shuffle through the 50+ thousand that are plugged in.

The best fix for many of today's tech ills is pretty simple; anonymous phone and internet MANDATED by a federal law.

Just as long as people's "data" is confidential UNTIL there's a warrant, not to be sold off for commercial and other profiling. Also, no bulk collection and archiving of data before it's fully authorized by the user, or by the law, ex-parte.

Maybe people can select a cheaper option for service to be subsidized by adverts, and not even all adverts need to be "targeted" anyway. Amazon phones were like this while they were a thing, supposedly subsidized by the ads.

Bottom line, if people opt for privacy, it should be available at a reasonable cost.

WASHINGTON, Dec 2 (Reuters) - The Trump administration intends to propose a regulation next year that would require all travelers - including U.S. citizens - to be photographed when entering or leaving the United States, according to the administration's regulatory agenda.

The proposed regulation, slated to be issued in July by the Homeland Security Department, would be part of a broader system to track travelers as they enter and exit the United States.

This was just yesterday! It's coming fast.

Further chilling proof of the Chinese state's tyrannical intent:

China is using DNA Samples to Try to Recreate the Faces of Uighurs

The research was published in Nature and was co-authored by European scientists at German and Dutch research institutes.

Using blood samples taken from the persecuted Uighurs, many of whom are held in internment camps, they're trying to use AI to predict individuals' facial features from DNA. It's not very effective, but evidence of a government building "technologies for hunting people".

To be fair, this should only be bad for you know... criminals no? There are lots of systems of control over we the people, but we with all the power choose to give that away for this security.

You shouldn't wish for these types of events! If you though want to die in some way, you are free to do so.

How anyone justifies doing business with China is beyond me. Consumers need to wake up and stop supporting companies who do business with and in China.

There is a series on in the United States on TV called Shark Tank. I like watching it. It's about a bunch of self-made multi-million/billionaires that can invest in new products companies that make pitches for investment money usually for giving away a percentage of their business/product.

One of the things these "sharks" always want to know is if it is going to be able to be mass produced overseas, usually in a place like China, to get the product down to being mass-produced for massive profit.

Then I look at why they have so much money, which no one needs, and see the damage they are doing to society by their greed, and then shake my head.

Don't get me wrong, they do invest in mom and pop outfits that have gone on to do good locally, and manufacture/produce locally. But they don't really care about that. It's all about the bottom-line. Filling their linings with more bling.

Greed. Everywhere it's all about greed.

There is nothing wrong with being rich. But the way a lot of people get their riches is wrong. And especially the attitude.

As for the OP and the big brother system. It has made for a very unemphatic society. Know people who have lived in China for years from the western world and they all seem to indicate that the lack of empathy among the people is really eye-openeing. Not that it isn't more widespread than before in other parts of the world. But the things they would tell you, just really sad.

Ultimately the type of rule in China is another example of how man-made government is a failure to humankind.
