I think, overall, that the media has gotten lazy.

There's rarely true investigative journalism anymore.

A quick Google check, a reference to Wiki, link a few sources that you agree with, and *boom* instant Pulitzer.

The media doesn't report any more.

They have a narrative, they have an agenda.

It's become so bad since the advent of citizen-journalism that the integrity of journalism has suffered.

Work is hard, and if you actually asked the citizens actual questions, then you might get answers that you don't like.

Thus the divide between MSM and actual people.

Agreed.

It's become so bad that Dem candidate Bloomberg, himself, has publicly directed his media empire to NEVER investigate, nor report negatively on ANY 2020 Dem presidential candidate...especially himself.

So can his media empire still consider itself journalism?

It's now openly propaganda.

It's Pravda.

Imagine a president, standing there with a straight face saying "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor".
a reply to: Mach2

I know, that was like 8 years ago, heard it 10,000 times... thats the best you got? Imagine a president lying from day 1, largest inauguration ever... can I pardon myself? 13000 lies and you still go with the doctor thing?

really? That is the best you have? 12,999 other lies...

you want to go lie for lie?

You have 1.... my turn...lol Iwin

I don't recall expressing any opinion, at all, on Trump.

My post referred to the hypocrisy that was clearly evident.

A post that posed a question, that you chose not to address.

Carry on though. Your response confirmed my suspicions, that you are only concerned with pointing out lies, when they fit your personal agenda, rather than on an impartial basis.

Yes, the Obama statement I referenced did occur years ago, but the Obamacare policy directly cost me, and many others, many thousands of dollars for nothing.

That matters a hell of a lot more to me than most of the retarded nitpicking the left tries to make a litteral "federal case" out of.

I don't see how ANY of Bloomberg's media outlets can ever be called serious journalism again.

So you say I point out lies only for my personal agenda... A)what would those lies be? and B) what do you think my personal agenda is?

The answer is getting government the hell out of insurance.

It has no business there being the largest health insurer in the country.

That's taken over 120 million people out of the private sector.

And that is how insurance works.

Pools.

For all I know, you could be an intelligent person, with predominantly mainstream views.

I think there are many ppl who would fall into that catagory of otherwise reasonable ppl, who let their TDS, and subsequent dislike for Trumps personality, get in the way of what is best for the country.

Let me ask you this. If you had to choose between a guy with an abraisive personality, who was politically incorrect, and let his mouth overrun his brain at times, but who's policies on economics, foreign affairs, trade, taxes, etc were very successful, and an extremist who said all the right things, but didn't have a clue about reality, or pragmatism, that would ultimately run the place into the ground, which do you choose?

You can say that's not a realistic choice. I say that's precicely the choice we have.

Redistribution of wealth, generational welfare, European style socialism, and the shredding of the Constitution are not acceptable to me, under any circumstances, and that's where the radical left want to take us.

Now, there are some moderate Dem candidates, but they allow themselves, for the most part, to be pulled left, rather than put tgeir foot down, and say ENOUGH.

I'd say the problem is.

Liberals aren't liberal.

And the closest you come to a conservative is a guy named Trump.

Damn.

Now you are just being ridiculous.

You aren't worth a damn at debating. You're all over the place. I know it has to be tough to defend an indefensible position.

In fairness, it's common to conflate liberal and leftist these days, when in reality, it isn't the same thing.

I know a lot of "liberals", and while they may share some views with lefties, they aren't on board at all with most of the radical policies.

Fairly sure this thread is about the media lying, if you'd like to make a thread about the President lying I imagine you'd get some of the same people posting in there as well.
a reply to: Hypntick

I know it is... and their outrage of the media lying.... That is the Irony... They do not care that the President of the United States lies... but boy oh boy... if somebody on TV does they are on it...

I could make a thread about the presidents lies... good idea. and I am sure the same will post and call his lies jokes

No need for a new thread. Name one lie he's told, right here, right now.

There may be more than you think.

I also don't think ppl fit in nice little presized boxes.

I, for example, am quite conservative on some issues. Others, I'm down right liberatarian. I even think some leftist philosophies are great in theory, but common sense tells me there is no utopia, and human nature being what it is, I subscribe to the old truism "the road to hell is paved with good intentions".
