For a while now I’ve been looking at an RPG called Kingdom Come Deliverance.
Everything I’ve read and heard is that it is a great RPG.
From what I gathered, your a normal guy, opposing forces march into your village and kill everyone you know, including your family.
You start from the ground up learning how to read, fight, etc...
The game doesn’t hold your hand either is what I’m told.

I was wondering if anyone here has played it and if so, what are your thoughts.

I gave it a try but the controls were way too clunky and complicated.
Made it hard to get into it when you're spending an hour trying to do something like pick a lock.

That’s what I hear about lock picking.
But yesterday there was a review posted saying how lock picking is much better now.
I guess the devs have done some serious support for the game

Oh yeah? I might have to give it another shot then.

Ya the video was going over all the issues at launch of the video and comparing it to the state of the game now. It was saying the devs supported the hell out of the game and that they were impressed by how well they listened.

I downloaded it for Xbox. Which was apparently the most bug riddled version.
But now it’s supposed to be really good.

Sounds like a real time sink though. Because you literally start from the ground up and need to skill up everything.
Sounds like a great game to play in the winter up here.
Too cold to leave the house, too much snow to drive.

I haven’t played it but will eventually. One thing I found interesting is that time doesn’t stop in the world just because you are on a side quest; so, decisions and priorities can truly affect outcomes. The storylines can unfold in many different ways whether or not you are there.

Oh that’s cool.

Also, I don’t mind skill trees and having to level each attribute up. I rather enjoy it actually.
But by the sounds of it this game you need to teach the character how to read even.

I also sort of got overwhelmed by a video or the alchemy bench.
Dude was flipping the hour glass, fanning the flames with the bellows, keeping the potion boiling, adding a handful of something or other....
It looked like a complete mini game in itself.

One of the best RPG’s I’ve ever played. Yes it has faults and some of the controls could be more refined, but the story is incredible and it just feels sort of uncannily real. Well worth investing some time in it.

Okay awesome!
That seems to be the standard from people saying it’s the best RPG story line ever.
Which is quite the statement.
FF7 is my absolute favourite storyline.
I think I’ll make the plunge and jump into this game right now.

It's a really enjoyable and compelling game. Yes the combat is clunky and a bit difficult at first. However the mechanics actually match the story line as you start as a person with no knowledge of or skills at combat.

The graphics aren't bleeding edge either. However it was made by a small studio and through that lens it is rather impressive even if it doesn't wow as much as an EA or Ubi published game would.

It's a solid experience with a good story that will pull you in.

Definitely worth a playthrough or two.

Long game and a very well done one. Simple things are hard at first, but get much easier as you progress, I really liked it and the characters, plot and dialogue

Been playing for the past 2 hours.
Our village was just burned to the ground and I’m in the second castle grounds.
Im really impressed so far and really enjoying it!

It's a really good first person RPG in my opinion. I quite like its slant on being more history / reality based, rather than a typical fantasy RPG (which there's nothing wrong with at all, but it's nice to have a change of scene).

It's a game that rewards lateral thinking and using alternative approaches to things and I found it became a lot more fun when I decided to start being as evil as possible, which is something I enjoy in most RPGs - assuming the game lets me.

...so what I'm saying is you don't need to strictly follow the plots, quests and typical game play.
I always like to explore what a game will let me get away with. How much money can I raise if I just kill and loot as many people in a town as possible etc...

Wow, is all I can say about that!

I just had one hell of an unexpected evening with a priest and 2 wenches...
I did NOT expect ANYTHING like that to be in this game.
But my god was that funny.
Nothing like watching a priest puke from his church tower before taking a wench to town on a hay stack.

I’m playing on Xbox one X and I was actually impressed with the graphics.
I’d say it’s on par with most games.
I just killed the bandit “Runt”
That was a frustrating experience until I found a rhythm.
It’s very true that you need to learn your combos.
I’m using a short sword w/ shield.
That perfect block mechanic has saved my arse numerous times now.

I've been playing it for about a week now and it is brutally unforgiving. Really good game though. I love those kind of games anyway and I love how there's no magic of healing potions. It's just unforgiving.

Gets much easier once you level up your skills, especially fighting. You'll die a lot doing this

My sword and defense skills are pretty high.
Yet, if im attacked by 4 or 5 dudes at once, im still dead.
I found jumping on the horse, running away a bit to get some space, then taking 1 or 2 on at once, being the best method.
A few pokes with my sword - The "Stinger" ( 79 stab dmg) takes them out with just 2 or 3 stabs.
Its when they start pushing me from behind or ringing my bell... that's when it gets difficult in a fight.

I love how a fight can still go either way, even though I'm level 25 (max 30)
