What is happening in Hong Kong is nothing then a Manufactured Regime Change organized by the same groups that had destabilized the Balkans and Middle East.

I am rather surprised by how some of people on here actually support the regime change in Hong Kong without realizing that the people who are supporting the so called opposition in Hong Kong are the same people that destabilized the middle east with the regime changes and military interventions that had eventually had brought Libya's state institutions and nation in ruin.

Do you know why the Hong Kong protesters were pushed at agaisnt China? they tried and failed with the tariffs. When the Americans saw that the tariffs they pushed what sen John McCain was hoping and wanting for a Arab Spring in China.

Hong Kong’s opposition unites with Washington hardliners to ‘preserve the US’s own political and economic interests’

While claiming to fight for “self-determination,” Hong Kong opposition leaders are collaborating with regime-change neoconservatives in Washington to “preserve the US’s own political and economic interests.” A new DC lobbying front has become their base of operations.

Behind its humanitarian cloak, the Senate bill advances the threat of economic sanctions in order to impose Washington’s foreign policy interests on China and the region, while turning up the heat on North Korea and Iran. At the same time, the bill pledges to “safeguard United States businesses in Hong Kong.”

The legislation is a long-term project of neoconservatives and leading Hong Kong opposition activists like Joshua Wong, a protest poster boy who has been present in meetings in Washington to develop the sanctions legislation since November 2016.

“I credit Senator Rubio’s unwavering leadership in demanding action from the full Senate for today’s passage of S1838 by unanimous consent,” HKDC managing director Samuel Chu declared.

While claiming to be struggling for Hong Kong’s “self-determination,” the opposition is openly coordinating with Washington, and aiming at nothing less than surrendering Hong Kong to the U.S.’s geo-strategic agenda.

Hong Kong activists unite with NED and U.S. regime change establishment The opposition’s symbiotic relationship with Washington was further underscored by the establishment of a brand new Hong Kong lobbying organization in Washington.

This is the same NED that backed a number of Ukrainian protest groups agaisnt the Ukrainian gov in 2014 with riots that eventually brought it down.
The same NED backed by Soros.

Is a self identified Marxist and sounds like he's a Chinese propagandist to me.

Now I don't think we should really be involved. However, attempting to weaken Chinese influence in Hong Kong is just smart business.

Smart Business? that is a very funny one because the only smart business that you gain from doing that regime change and weaking China is really just hurting the people in Hong Kong whom will just become nothing more then debt slaves paying America's slave salary in a similar way to what Kosovo is now at.

You Americans thought that weaking Russia through Kosovo was just smart business to
BTW How did the regime change and installing an puppet in Russia and putting Boris Yeltsin worked out for America? how that's right it gave the rise to Putin and his gang.

While proudly defending installing your own puppets like Yeltsin?

Its best sometimes that you Americans stop meddling and interfering into everywhere and start fixing your own mess in your own homes. I mean look at how ridicules America's politics they are laughing stock.

Oh yes i do know the history of Hong Kong especially the fact that the British Empire took over it and used it like a colony. And then you wonder why China treats it as its own? maybe its some people that back the so called hong kong oppostion should look at the history of Kong Hong a bit further.

If Senator Marco Rubio is backing the so called opposition you only then know that its then being pushed by the same people who pushed for regime changes elsewhere.
Map.

Do you even understand what is happening in Hong Kong

Oh you mean those Peaceful Protesters whom were seen carrying and waving American and British imperialistic flags? and attacking journalists whomever Chinese from China?

So the people of Hong Kong should be left to China and their concentration camps?

American politics has become a clown show because of the crazy leftists like the author of your Ops article.

What is happening in HK is pretty much defined by the following picture and is happening because the CCP got greedy and pushed too hard to regain control. Just because freedom-loving Americans support freedom does not make it some kind of US-backed regime change. Perhaps you should talk to a Hong Konger instead of CCP propaganda.

What's happening in Hong Kong is a bit more complicated than just the "regime change" you point to. There can be more than one interest involved, which is what I suspect is happening here.

I don't doubt that U.S. "interests" are involved just as you can't doubt that there are other elements - such as pro-democracy Hong Kongers wanting China to live up to their promise of One Country Two Systems

Yes, they carry the flag of the countries they want to be more like, more freedom, not less. That's their choice. In the end China will crush them, the British hung them out to dry years ago, and the people of HK accepted their fate in the 90s when that was the time to fight.

It probably doesn't matter who is really behind the Hong Kong situation. We should be opposing the influence of China any way we can. They're a brutal communist country that puts people in concentration camps and kills people to use their organs. The fact that China is one of the most powerful countries in the world should scare everyone. Hong Kong isn't about regime change, it's about standing up to China.

Hong Kong was handed back to China based on an agreement that China would not make system changes until 2047 so as to enable current and future generations to get used to the idea of being run by Beijing.

China is breaking that agreement with it posture and attempts to impose its ways and laws upon the Hong Kong people.

The Hong Kong people are fighting and now voting for their future and their way of life and do not want to be a communist lead province of China. They want to retain as many of their freedoms as they can.

Any peoples of any land would be fighting just the same and you cant blame them.

The Hong Kong government is pro-Beijing and taking its orders from Beijing.

If the Hong Kong government do not take steps to instigate a commission of inquiry and continue to allow Beijing (not sure they have much choice, like it or not) then this will slowly escalate into a urban battle for a long time, even if Chinese troops and tanks roll in just like they did in T square.

Does anyone think that Beijing will allow for a GE? Never! Troops will move before they allow that to happen.

I feel sorry for the Hong Kong people. Hong Kong will never be the same again. Will miss our family visits!

Good luck to the to be HK heroes!

That's the usual propaganda as before. Every Western Villain or bad guy has either chemical weapons or concentration camp but America and the West are always hands clean and democratic right? the protesters in Hong Kong are peaceful right? the protesters in Venezuela are peaceful to right?

That's What America and the American gov does best. Not China look at what is happening in the middle east and the Balkans American gov never cared about the Balkan people they are only using them like pawns agaisnt each other or agaisnt the Russians because the Balkan region is like a access route for the Russians.

they will roll over any country should their resources run dry.

You are really talking about America here. I can see what kind of GREAT freedom they brought to the Iraqi people while stealing their oil till they dry out. While makes demands.

Source

Analysts naively believe Iraq is failing as a state, whereas Iraq is arising like a phoenix from these protests, much strengthened. Political bloc leaders are holding on to Iraq and want the country to be healthy and under their control, and they will not allow it to collapse. These analysts – who oppose US withdrawal from Iraq – think Iraqis believe the US wants Iraq to be sovereign, stable and democratic. In fact, the US controls Iraqi oil and only grudgingly accepts Baghdad’s necessary relationship with Iran. Indeed, the US wants to control Iraq and prevent officials from dealing with Iran, Russia or China, as President Barham Saleh has said. The US wants Iraqis to accept being the target of the Israeli air force, and to allow Israel to assassinate Iraqi commanders. The US wants Iraq to stop buying electricity from Iran – that could trigger a real revolution if the southern cities of Iraq are deprived of electricity – and close its borders with Syria. That is what sovereignty means for the US think tank analysts.

I suggest you take some time reading it before judging it.

You think the people of Hong Kong are being manipulated to protest? That’s absurd. They’re terrified that they’re going to lose the freedom they’ve enjoyed for many decades. No one who has lived in freedom would wish to be ruled by the Chinese Communist Party. China’s government is violently intolerant of opposition. It allows no opposition parties; it imposes one-party rule. It is so brutal that more than a million Uighurs are in re-education camps. Have you ever lived in a free nation, ChefFox? Winston Churchill said Democracy is the worst form of government in the world — except for all the rest, or something to that effect.
