I wonder?

Pehaps it was implicating Lisa Page, whom we know was
working hand in hand (pun intended) with Peter Strzok?

All of the texts between the two implicating them
in serious crimes might be hard to reconcile with
WaPo's spin that none of this would have affected
the legality of the FISA warrant itself.

I understand the CNN article perfectly. You and the others are very excited because you think this is vindication for all your beliefs.

Maybe it is.

Or maybe it's an incompetent junior lawyer who screwed up so badly he's already been fired some time ago and now DOJ needs something to come from all this sound and fury.

Just a thought to keep on the table.

I think it will be a tough sell to Republicans that a 'junior lawyer' just made an error. No such quarter is given when Democrats smell blood. The 'honest mistake' angle is not going to fly... a full investigation is needed. Subpeona all emails, documents, text messages etc... find out who was talking to who and what they were saying in the run up to the FISA application. That would seem fair in the current climate. Anything less will be a clear example of double standards.

I don't know whether Trump has seen the documents, but he has commented on it. I suspect he has seen it and he's pre-empted it by saying it's going to show corruption at the highest levels.

Thankfully I'm not selling anything to Republicans.

There has been a full *ahem* investigation that is sort of the point. See Horowitz, Durham, et. al.

I will add that my bet is the higher level is McCabe. Just putting my chip down.

I would have thought everyone would be all for an investigation to get to the bottom of potential, and extremely serious, corruption in the previous administration. Why is it a 'ahem' investigation as you put it?

I am going for Comey, McCabe, Strozk - possibly Rosenstein.
I think Obama and some of his cabinet members also would have been looped into the process, but doubt they would have known specifics about changes or additions to the warrants. Probably insulated.

It's already underway, this resulted in the "leak" that you guys are so excited about y'all cited CNN.

You know the *cue scary music* criminal referral to Durham.

I really am going to be sad for you guys if all this only nets you some probie.

Really.

well well well

In order to get a FISA warrant, you need an affidavit signed by a career law enforcement officer who swears the information is true... And if it is wrong, that person is going to face consequences.
rr

every single signature swears the information is true

This wasn't a screw up. This was intentional, and even a
cursory knowledge of events over the last three years
would be sufficient to understand at least that much.

This story in itself is a revelation of the extent to which
the "media" will go to cover up anything that might even
put a dent in the narrative.

I won't be holding my breath on anyone coming around,
especially if they are getting their information from
the fake news media.

/Yawn at your implied ad hom. You're excited about a leak ... FROM CNN lol.

You have nothing other than that at this point.

All rest of that evangelizing in your post is pure blovation.

It must be difficult for you in these troubled times,
here have a tissue.

Don't worry, everything is going to be alright.
Afterall, what is the worse thing that can
happen to you? Trump will not be impeached,
and he will win in 2020. There there now,
you will live through it.

The CNN leak is just a small part of it. I am more interested in what the President had to say - and he's suggested that the corruption uncovered in the investigation goes to the highest levels of Obama's administration. Now, I don;t know whether he has seen the report, but I'd be surprised if he hasn't.

Contrary to being excited about the CNN story that has been leaked to them, I am actually suspicious of it. Your response to it is precisely what I believe the aim of the leak sought to stimulate - try to pin it all on a lowly FBI agent or junior legal person... i.e not a leak at all, but misinformation placed to get ahead of what is coming.

After meeting with attorney general Barr last week, President Trump said he would be very interested in seeing if Horowitz included what Obama did, in the report.

It might be left to John Durham to do that because he is investigating the international fraud aspects.

Well, Horowitz is specifically looking at the FISA abuse allegations - I find it hard to believe that Obama was not aware of what was happeing, but how much he directed is another matter.

New York Times says the Horowitz report will blame lower-level people and let higher level books off the hook.

And truthfully I would not be surprised, Horowitz
has pulled many punches before. Said it early in
the thread, Paul Sperry did a great investigation
into previous IG reports and found many instances
where he didn't quite go there.

And much of that may have to do with his inability
to subpoena, but lets be real. If he was really doing
his job he would have rankled a few chains to many
by now, how long has he been in his "position"?

But yeah, NYT have they read the report?

Whatever it is it can not be worse than this.

Hilarious!

You're right. IG Horowitz determined in the SUMMARY/CONCLUSION of the 400+ page IG Report in June 2018, that the FBI (Strzok/Page) did NOT exhibit any political bias.

Anyone with half a brain who read the report could see that there WAS political bias.

It will be impossible for him to admit in December 2019, that he was wrong in June 2018.

Good synopsis there CWM,

Horowitz is a lifelong Democrat, something
that is not talked about a lot as the media
want's to give him all the edge they can.

Additionally, this report of going to focus
solely on the FISA process, and the warrants.

Things like McCabe and his lies are not likely
to be touched on here. Pretty much nothing
new, we have known this for a long time.

I will say though that it still appears Andrew McCabe
is in serious trouble, as he is still under dark clouds
in terms of prosecution. He has already stated he
will not be commenting on the DOJ IG report, and
he also could not comment on the report of the
FBI lawyer who is under investigation.
