Baltimore is in the news again today, because a former Democrat mayor was charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, two counts of tax evasion, and seven counts of wire fraud. Former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh was federally indicted on Nov. 13 and today those charges were made public for the first time.

Baltimore is chasing Chicago for being the most corrupt city in the country.

In a grand jury indictment made public Wednesday, prosecutors allege Pugh defrauded area businesses and nonprofit organizations with nearly $800,000 in sales of her “Healthy Holly” books to unlawfully enrich herself, promote her political career and illegally fund her campaign for mayor.

Though her customers ordered more than 100,000 copies of the books, the indictment says Pugh failed to print thousands of copies, double-sold others and took some to use for self-promotion. Pugh, 69, used the profits to buy a house, pay down debt, and make illegal straw donations to her campaign, prosecutors allege.

The charges Pugh faces carry potential sentences totaling 175 years in prison. Prosecutors are seeking to seize $769,688 of her profits, along with her current home in Ashburton, which they allege she bought and renovated with fraudulently obtained funds.

You see? No need to beg and get on your knees to cry for tax records. The IRS already knows.

Take a note, democrats. While y'all are busy screaming at Trump, your own people are the ones committing tax fraud.

fry her ass along with every other corrupt politician who has been profiting handsomely off of waste, corruption, fraud and abuse.

Al Sharpton's "charity" paid him $1M last year:
Al Sharpton gets $1M in pay from his own charity .

These virtue-signaling hypocritical, shameless politicians are the absolute worst!

It's a career politician thing... They're all piece of sharts. Lawyers used to be the worst of the worst, but politicians have taken the top spot.

Every member of congress should be audited. I don't care about the letter beside their name.

I hate to say it but this is a good sign, the old guard is falling and the firewalls they have created are being extinguished!

So, she bribed these institutions to but thousands of copies of this 22-page children's book and didn't even produce the book.

Of course, nobody really wanted the book but she couldn't even give them the copies they were bribed to buy.

It is a cromulent argument.

Why are so many people that excused Trump's embezzlement of charity funds demanding Pugh be strung up for committing a similar infraction?

I don't know. Perhaps she is being railroaded. I'm sure the investigation will sort all that out. If she has done nothing wrong, she has nothing to fear. Amirite
