If the Democrats want to be Republican Lite they will never win anything in terms of their agenda.

The difference is that one is a cult of personality. Nothing more.

Yeah, I have to disagree with that. You in no way are considering the
magnitude of what's at stake right now. It is naive not to understand
the hostility the Democrat's have displayed openly, ( From 19 minutes after
Donald Trumps presidency began ). And claim it's just a passing fascination
with charisma. Anyone paying attention knows that all the bombastic
hate being show cased in an on going media blitz? For three gawd damn
years running? If for nothing else but to sand bag any accomplishments
he might achieve? Making all of DC past and present look exactly like
what they are? Complete sacks of shlt?

I could go on, but for you to claim this is just some kind of political
Beatlemania? C'mon heffe' you can do better than all that?

Tell me how long Trump was on the birther train.

Tell me about McConnell obstructionism.

Tell me where I said that Democrats are not leaning too far left.

Science? We don't need no stinkin' science! Coal is good, no matter how impractical it is, it gets money for my campaign!

There is a thing called clean coal, but lets not talk about that since it still contains the evil coal word. And if coal was really that impractical, why does coal produce more than 60% of the power here in Australia despite our best efforts to move over to "greener" technologies? Actually I do agree it's not a great way to produce energy because we have even cleaner and more efficient ways of generating energy, primarily nuclear technology, however many people on the left seem to think nuclear energy is a tool of the devil, and Bernie Sanders has pledged to completely eradicate nuclear energy despite it's vast benefits and it's ability to reduce reliance on unclean fossil fuels. I have written a couple of threads on this subject if you want to better understand my position:

Bernie Sanders very misguided on nuclear technology
Dissecting the Global Warming and Energy Issues in Australia

Trump on the birther train has no absolutely nothing to do with all
that he's managed to accomplish. Even in the face of the most extreme
adversity any President in the history of this country has ever seen.

An unbiased media would surely be championing this President more
than any other ever! For you to even remotely suggest anything he
thinks about Barack Obama ( Are you kidding me ) is any where
close to significant? If that's how you practice fooling yourself I don't
think you're gonna get there because it ain't work'n on me.

I don't understand your entry of McConnell into this context. While
openly admitting I lack the knowledge I'm certain would be required
to give you proper recourse. So I apologize for that.

And I don't believe you did say "The Democrats are not leaning to far left".
Nor do I believe I indicated that you did say such a thing.

Obama has always been right in the head. Never was as bad as hillary or trump. The bar really has been lowered.

Because it's cheaper than other options "here in Australia", I suppose. And cheap is what counts. Always.

If you're "here in Australia", what the hell are you doing talking about American politics? America is first dude. Nothing else matters. Mind your business.

The tariffs a merely a means to facilitating more equitable trade deals with certain countries after decades of largely one sided deals that put the American people, corporations and interests at a disadvantage.

As we have seen over the last few years, once deals have been put in place the tariffs have been lifted.

So, because Americans can't compete (due primarily to high labor costs) we need to be taxed in order to level the playing field. Thanks for clearing that up. It's a very Republican stance. I think.

Which trade deals would that be?

People who can defend themselves may or may not defend those that can't.

Do you think herr Drumph prefers President Trump or Mr President?

Sorry i almost Derailed the thread by not
recognising something Obama said. What a Kenyan. Respect.

I mean in terms of politics, the Trump situation has affected politics all around the world and caused many different left leaning parties to move even further left. You like to use the word reactionary, well a world wide shift in political discourse due to one man being elected in one nation is an extremely reactionary response and it's dragging the world down into the gutter. It's not just about U.S. politics at this point.

How moderates see themselves.

The right: let’s kill all Muslims
The left: let’s kill off all white people
The moderate: let’s not kill anyone

How moderates are in reality
The right: you can’t have sex with an farm animal it’s illegal
The left: love is love why are you such a bigot
The moderates: I’m not a bigot but I also think people shouldn’t be allowed to have sex with animals so blowjobs and handjobs are ok let’s meet in the middle guys
