According to Lee Zeldin, one of the witnesses gave a very good explanation of why the aid to Ukraine was help up, and it sounds like it undermines several of Schiff's pseudo-witnesses.

Yes, it was simply because Ukraine has been known as one of the most corrupt countries on the planet, and Trump wanted to vet the new President to see if he was as corrupt as the rest of them. Trump is not a big fan of foreign aid in general, much less I am assuming if the receiving country is corrupt as hell.

Yeah...I can't imagine being on the other side of this argument. It has to be willful deafness at this point. I think Fox should just start pushing the narrative that Schiff and Pelosi and the entire democratic party is calling Zelensky a liar. It would force them to address the lack of anything relating to his own words and force them to actually consider what they are doing to Ukraine relations by calling Zelensky a liar.

Hmmm, I wonder where that attorney’s loyalties lie. If impeachment were actually justified, this would be a nonsense reason to call it off.

On the other hand, if impeachment were a complete farce, and the dems suspect they will not have enough votes to even proceed, and wish to avoid that embarrassment, they could pretend to take the high road and use the excuse that they are calling off the vote because it would damage a political rival.

This would set a precedent of sorts, and bolster their case when it comes time for them to claim that the Republican investigations are just attempts to damage political rivals and should be called off.

And yes, that doesn’t make much sense, but it seems that everything now has degenerated to a game of appearances without any concern for logic, truth or any semblance of fairness.
