Just for the record I do happen to know for a fact that our Navy did launch a missile at Flight 800. I know because, at the time my roommate worked security for a Navy off shoot in one of Floridas State parks (John Lloyd) in Dania that is across from Port Everglades. They monitor the Navy Chatter and long story short that radio blew up that night with bit of Navy Panic for lack of better way to term it. My roommate was rather grim that night.

Heck, people saw the missile rise up from the surface of the ocean!

Enough information has leaked out over the years that we know what happened. The Navy was practicing firing anti-aircraft missiles at an early type of drone. They were way too close to air traffic lanes, and the missile locked onto TWA 800 by mistake. They've been covering up their criminal negligence ever since.
