Liberals never do anything wrong. They don't lie, it's just a misunderstanding of the word "is".

I work with a very far left liberal and talking to him about Warren I asked him if 20 years of pretending to be an American Indian and using that to get positions at universities and other things bothered him at all. I said this is a pure white woman taking advantage of the poorest minority group in America and you are thinking of making her President.

His answer was...and I'm not sh!tting you... "she said she was sorry" geez

So is the issue here
he tried to find out information on a political rival and then said he couldn't remember who he spoke to about it?

If he had said sure I did my job to the best of my abilities looking for information to help gather information for candidate Trump in his campaign. What would be illegal in that?

Pretty sure there were investigation into Trump by HC, BO and DNC before he won the Election and after.

Seems old party politics was tell a few untruths, stall things that made the other party look good and smoke and mirrors everyone get a paycheck.

Things sure have changed since the Obama Resistance coup started, well here's hoping democracy can survive the carnage when all tables are turned and everyone can be investigated in the exact same manner and held to the same standard.

Anyone who lies to Congress should go to prison, Democrat, Republican or whatever their political persuasion.

Yup, it' just isn't that way. But I agree.

Roger Stone faces years in federal jail after he was found guilty today of lying to Congress about his efforts to procure stolen Democratic Party emails from WikiLeaks to help Donald Trump become President.

Jurors agreed the self-proclaimed political dirty trickster told five 'whoppers' when he testified before members of House Intelligence Committee investigating Russian collusion in the 2016 election.

Stone lied about the identity of his 'back channel' to WikiLeaks and lied when he denied asking its founder Julian Assange for the plundered messages.

He lied about his conversations with senior Trump Campaign officials and lied to lawmakers when he said he had no emails or written communications about WikiLeaks that could prove useful to their probe.

So we have a House Chairman on TV tampering with witnesses and not allowing statements from GOP members but Mr Stone is convicted? We are seeing the hypocrisy play out in real time here. We have multiple people who have lied to Congress during all of the Trump investigations and nothing. It is all about wanting Trump to 'obstruct'.

What is worse is Rick Gates, who testified against Stone was given a plea dea and then the charges were dropped. His testimony stated there was a call between Stone and Trump and although he did not hear it he said it was about Wikileaks.

So Mr Trump, are you ready to make heads explode and pardon an old friend? Personally I would wait till after the 2020 win.

George Webbs take on it is the best one I have seen so far:

WTF is ordinary politics? I guess you mean what the previous administrations have done and I do not mean just Obama. NONE of this would have happened if Hillary had won and anyone who questioned it would be a right wing conspiracy nut....

Trump had yet to do anything I feel is criminal.

One question...if he decided that the sanctions against Russia were wrong and delivered a create with 30 billion in it what would you say? That is the ordinary politics?

so I'm clear, is this anyone who sticks up for Trump, or do you have some magical ability to see inside minds?

But the lying and witness tampering is still a crime no?

Twitter.... I like the new logic from the left now that anything posted puts them in harms way while they can post away with the same crap. This idea of "being in fear for one's life" is a very new approach.

When you break down his "perjury and witness tampering" it is very small stuff, but hey give him 50 years. In many states pot is illegal still and so I think a joint there should be 50 years too, its all illegal.

Punishment should fit the crime,. no?

Plus remember this and tell me they were not gunning hard for him on anything they could find. CNN at the ready, SWAT style invasion on an old man and wife who is in a wheel chair. AMERIKA!!

I would not be surprised to see this happen. At all. That's exactly how the swamp works.

If you have a friend and that friend gets found guilty by a jury of civilian peers, on all seven federal crimes, in a swamp you can expect a higher up friend to pull some strings and make all that go away.

I am expecting our crocodile-in-chief to do exactly that.

It was nice knowing you America. Sure there is heaps of grounds for a retrial, but the choo choo train of corruption is too strong. Does it matter that Shiff has no shame? Does is matter the Supreme Court just recently ruled against guns? Does it matter that the recently election fraud in Kentucky is going through without question? Does it matter that the Vatican recently put up a statue to Moloch?

Welcome to the United States of Corruption, god help us all cause the State will only help itself. What I see that Rodger done wrong was talk about Wikileaks, that is why he was targeted. But don't worry America, you are still free to commit war crimes, have pizza parties and do it all with truck loads of kick backs.

To all those that think it is too much to reinvestigate 9/11, how could we expect anything less.

He is not Nelson Mandella. Hes a political fixer who has admitted to lying and cheating in politics from as far back as the Nixon administration.

No, he's clearly not a terrorist as Mandela was... I'll grant you that and it's why I did not use Mandela as a comparison to him. I used actual political prisoners, which is what Stone now is.

That's indicted...and Convicted..sent to jail like the MANY other Trump lackeys involved in the Trump crime family.

Paul Manafort
Michael Cohen
Michael Flynn
Rick Gates
George Papadopoulos
Roger Stone

Before its over, there will be many more including Trump himself.

I don't think there was one person in Obamas administration that went to jail.

Technically only Flynn was part of the Executive Branch. I don't recall if Petraeus did actual time or was let off with probation entirely, but Obama and Trump are equals with each one having a single executive branch official indicted and convicted of federal crimes.

I was kinda following both sides of the arguement(?) going on in this thread but my brain just froze up when I read this.

A Democrat could even beat someone senseless with a MAGA hat (as has happened over 600 times in the past 3+ years), even on national TV live, and "it would all just be a big misunderstanding".

600 times? OVER 600 times?
Beaten senseless?
With a MAGA hat?

Not a saint or a patriot, but not a criminal who needs to be jailed, either.

Is he not a criminal, or should he simply not go to jail for the crimes he committed and for which he was ultimately convicted?

Same as with other nonviolent, victimless crimes like drug possession, illegal gambling, tax evasion, selling Kinder Eggs in the US... prison isn't necessary to see justice served. Keep prison for people who are a danger to society, not people who have simply pissed on the authorities' heads.

One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter but I digress lets change it to say MLK Jr or Ghandi then.

But he is not a political prisoner come on. Political operative? yes. He was tried and CONVICTED on charges brought BY Trumps Justice Department. So are you saying he is a political prisoner cause the Trump administration is persecuting him?

Maybe he should call the ALCU and Amnesty International

Well, MLK wasn't a political prisoner, he was arrested for public disturbances and disruptions, not politics. Ghandi was a Nazi sympathizer so...

You and I both are smart enough to not play the "who's adminsitration runs the Justice Department" game, man. Mueller's prosecution of Stone and others was extra-judicial in the common usage of the term. He had broad powers and he used them, the Justice Department opting not to prosecute wasn't even an option on the table thanks to the ridiculously powerful and without oversight privileges granted the special investigator by one single party in Congress (meaning, again, it was absolutely a politically driven prosecution and Stone is a political prisoner.)

ACLU might give a damn if it was a minority or liberal in political prison... an actual enemy of the establishment, though? Fuggedaboudit.
