Problem is, if she makes in into 2020 then the Dems will push for no SC Justice to be nominated until after the election, per "the precedent."

That just makes the 2020 election even more important because there's no way RBG makes it 4 more years.

Oh, you’re talking about the McConnell Doctrine?

I think we’re close enough now, should something happen to Justice Ginsburg.

We will let the People decide, we don’t allow a President to use their Constitutional powers if we decide it’s not a good idea for us.

While we’re talking about traitors to the United States, Mitch should be at the top of the list.

Nah
They will just use the harry reid doctrine and a simple majority

At least with Harry Reid, Trump’s nominee would get an up-down vote, unlike Obama’s.

You know, as required in the Constitution?

Has your grandmother been fighting cancer for the past few years though?? I hope not. I really do!!

Cancer does a number on the body that has to be seen to be believed in some cases. My Uncle who died of cancer went from a very healthy 50 year old who was in prime condition for his age, after his bouts with cancer, five of 'em, to a man who could barely walk around the house, much less do anything. It was the aftermath of his last bout that doomed him. He was just so tired--not just physically, but mentally, as well. My Mother went from a robust older woman, to someone I barely recognized, seemingly over night as it ate her alive. My Dad, and I, bankrupted ourselves virtually with her treatment, which was state of the oncology art at that time. It didn't make a dent.

There's real reason cancer is so tough. It doesn't just attack one thing, it effects everything. It can, and has, reach a point where even the most stringent of care does nothing but prolong the agony. It was that way for my Uncle and my Mother.

No case of cancer is identical. My own bout with it was either very minor, or my bodies immune system, despite the abuse it's taken over the years, fought it off--I barely noticed anything was wrong until I went to see a specialist...to call it shocking would be an understatement. Never been so scared in all my life. I was lucky--or divine providence.

Some day you should show me that, I think you misunderstand.
Too bad to be in the minority, right?

Hold up, the only Senate Majority Leader that tossed around the word traitor and domestic terrorist recently was the previous one Harry Reid. Funny it had something to do with a rancher in his home county standing up for himself while Reid privately facilitated the sale of publicly owned land to a Chinese energy company and wanting to relocate endangered and protected turtles from their natural environment to land adjacent to the ranch which was not the turtle’s natural habitat.

We might need some slander investigations into that along with...bribery and other high crimes since someone did a little deflecting and protecting there.

LOL ... go get him Ahab! You’ll get no guff from me.

Is Reid even still alive?

They’re all psychopaths from my point of view. However, McConnell’s gloating that HE kept the President of the United States from having his nominations duly considered by the Senate is an complete and utter trashing of at least the SPIRIT of the Constitution.

Not that there is any consistency among those partisan nut jobs, but McConnell should have to eat those words.

The biden rule will be summarily thrown aside, as it should be. See you can only set the rules if you win the senate and you didn't. It's going to be sweet watching the lefty tears cry foul about this.

I really think a lot of the problem with cancer's debilitating effects is the "cure" for it is basically a hard reset on your body. When you're young that hard reset is tough enough, when you're old it's a whole different ball game. Which makes me wonder if she is getting some experimental treatments that spare her that reset.

There was one honorable justice who served
till the day he died. Anonin Scalia, he actually
was working up to that day.

Ginsburg is setting a precedent that somehow
I doubt she would want others to follow.

RIP Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The Dems have the majority in the House due to the will of the voters. They used that majority to launch the impeachment inquiry. They are operating within the rules and using their majority to flex their muscle.

Exactly what you want the GOP in the Senate to do.

The dems do organize very well come election day.
Through social media and other sources they show up in droves.
During the mid terms 3 Van's of antifa show up with about 45 members lined up.
Then after them it looked like they coordinated with LGBTQ because about 50 members of that group show up and take over the polling station.

And when they were done about another 50 members of BLM.

There was a 3 hour long line of hard core Democrats voting.

But It didint sto, after BLM came a Muslim group followed by a large group of central Americans.

This made smade people nervous and off put by who they were seeing votes Democrat.

It was not a pretty sight and would make anyone run to the red side fast. Giving those groups the majority is dangerous

I seem to be missing the bulk of the bloodthirsty in this thread. I dont see psychopaths, I see people who do not view RBG as a justice who follows the Constitution, but rather as a liberal activist who will legislate from the bench to spite that Constitution.

Look man, you're a libertarian so you should easily get it. No one person is more important than the Constitution itself. I won't rejoice at her passing, but I will feel a weight and a doom lifted from me when it happens.

That’s the great thing about freedom: we all have the right to be just exactly who we are without expecting anyone else to appreciate, understand or accept us. One follows the other you might even say.

Yeah, I’ve very recently joined the Libertarian party, as I don’t support the cesspit that the American two-party system has become, plus, as you point out, I have long focused on the US Constitution as my measure of evaluating social and political issues.

I saw multiple instances of a total lack of human dignity in responses in this thread. If you didn’t, good, I’m glad you were spared the disgust I felt seeing the bloated gloating here that an old lady may be about to die. Hope you weren’t troubled by my expression of disdain.

Takes all kinds, don’t it?

McConnell didn’t change the rules of the Senate, he just refused to follow them, while at the same time, denying a sitting President his Constitutional authority by a use of unwarranted procedure. It points out another case where practice has trampled the Constitution, and another place we should all want to see a return to Constitutional standards. The “Majority Leader” is not a real position and should have no authority.

That’s okay, right-partisans often forget that what goes around comes around, and while lefties are usually a day late and a dollar short, even they catch up ... eventually.

That enough trite maxims for ya?
