I will be taking my daughter to see the new Frozen 2 when it comes out. She is a teenager and has really been looking forward to it. She watches any snippets of teasers that she can find. I knew that there were some stories leaked previously that Disney might make Elsa a lesbian. I thought it was ridiculous.... But a quick search of news stories for Frozen 2 shows all the people who are losing their minds because Disney chose NOT give Elsa a 'love interest' in Frozen 2. I can't help but be disgusted by this.... Why does identity have to come down to sexuality? Who cares if Elsa doesn't have a love interest, let alone if it isn't another woman??? Can we PLEASE keep sexuality and politics out of children's movies???

Yes, I'm just ranting because I know there are people out there who are OBSESSED with identity politics. Correction.....people are just obsessed with politics. They want to politicize EVERYTHING and I'm sick to death of it.

I agree whole heartedly! They don't belong in children's movies.

I've been wondering about this myself. My 4 year old loves the Frozen movie, and is looking forward to the new one. It was going to be hard telling her that she could not see that movie because of garbage like that.

I don't care what gender someone is, what sexual orientation they are, what color they are or ethnicity. I do care about young children and what they are exposed to. Ones sexual preference does not belong in children's films.

At least in this one case, your little girl can stay little just a while longer. It's my wish that all of them can remain little as long as they want. Being an adult kind of sucks when you compare the two. Glad to see you around.

Thank you for being a parent who is willing to take a stand against it.

The same could be said for anyone who gets upset that a fictional character isn't a homosexual.

Amazing that the propaganda is so strong, the social engineering so relentless that now folks are upset that their extremist ideologies are not being prioritized over the 99% who just want to live normal lives and not have the extremists sh!t shoved down their throats.

Again, I blame poor education, poor parenting/upbringing and an overwhelming sense of entitlement over all other humans.

Next year: Mad Max is actually a drag queen.....coming soon to a theatre near you.

'Sex' should have no place in Frozen.
Disney should just say Elsa is 'frigid'...and leave it at that.

I bet those same complainers would flip out if Disney revealed that "Maleficent" was a lesbian.

OMG...she is evil, she CAN"T be a lesbian. Only good, pretty, upstanding women are lesbians.

Maybe I'm more "old fashioned" than I believe myself to be. As a True Conservative, I don't believe government has any right to limit individual freedons (i.e. who to marry, where you put your weenus, etc), but if Elsa had a female love interest, we would choose to pass on the movie for my daughter. To me, there are FAR MORE important life lessons to focus on in her childhood than explaining lesbians.

Yes, they exist, and I'm perfectly fine with that, but people exist who like to lick stinky feet, people exist who are obsessed with collecting dryer lint. None of those things matter directly in our lives or those of our children.

We raise them to respect everybody - no need to explain everyone's differences, especially when the basis of the difference is sexuality, which isn't a topic of discussion with our children anyhow.

Disney has literally already produced a cartoon about a girl that gets off with a beast and I don't recall the uproar about that from anyone. All of this just speaks to the people of earth today. We're all too goddamn sensitive and have zero respect for any and all opposing viewpoints.

I personally couldn't care less about if this character was made into a lesbian or not, I got a lot more pressing matters on my mind these days, but I do understand where conservatives are coming from with how society has turned oppressive towards them. People on the left need to do a lot better of understanding that one's temperament is just as ingrained in them as a sexual preference. So when leftists, who feel emboldened by the win of gay marriage and how society in general largely leans more left today, start trying to control everything and shame conservatives for their temperament and call them things like racists and deplorables -- you are quite literally behaving in the same manner as the authoritarian overzealous bigots of yesteryear that you loath so very much.

Stop turning into what you despise. I see it everywhere in society today. It is an epidemic and it just wears me out.

I agree with the OP. I am seeing more and more shows pushing gay people in their scripts. And like you said some people get upset when there isn't a gay person in a movie or series these days. There are actually only a small part of the population that are gay, not enough to justify a gay person in every tv show these days.

I have friends who are gay, I have no problem with them being gay. An occasional gay person on tv now and then is not a problem. But kids do not need to know about sex in the first place, let alone gay people interacting that way. I guess sex obsession is the norm nowadays in our society, it always has been but not nearly like it is nowadays. Any ten year old can access porn on the internet, most already know how to hack parental filters because they have been living in cyber for most of their lives. Parents on the other hand are busy working and they are not checking if what they did is still working properly on the kids computers/phones. I grew up where they could not show much on TV, us kids learned to just play outside and we could not even get into an M rated movie at the shows.

You know why.

It's because in the modern world of writing characters, those characters are apparently simply 2-dimensional beings if they cannot check off a laundry list of grievance group identity boxes to belong to.

It's pathetic because those things are not actually character defining or interesting, but they're all that matters to the modern SJW crowd.

A gay, transgender, Inuit, Muslim who does nothing but sit in a chair would be an epic for them.

I mean seriously -- "This little girl has a powerful story to tell. She's grown up disadvantaged. Her father died when she was three. Her mother works two jobs to make ends meet, and she's had to be streetwise and learn how to raise her two younger siblings while running a paper route to bring in extra cash ... AND she trains super hard at a gymnasium in order to try to make the US National Gymnastics team! Oh and she's a straight A student with dyslexia too."

"Yeah, yeah, that's great, but does she pray to Mecca and wear a burka and is she gay?"

No love interest at all?
Good.

People like me that don't care about sex much at all are never represented in film.
But they should be.

Stop telling everyone that finding a mate ,any mate, is so darn important.
It's ok to be single. It's ok to not care about having sex.
