Read my edit .

Your position is the Boston tea party members were criminals .

Can’t have it both ways .

It was a criminal act.

Making a big fuss off of tea. Gee, I would rather have coffee anyday.

So much here. . . . .

Not a pacifist, not for property damage, and the Boston Tea Party was entirely different.

You can't conflate the two.

The dude popped someone else's balloon.

That wasn't protest, it was a dick move.

Unless I am misunderstanding things, to rent the balloon cost $5000.. I imagine it will cost quite a bit more to replace it?
It was an idiotic move that is gonna cost him..

What Hoyt did was akin to censorship.

I can't abide that. You counter speech you disagree with, with more speech, not less.

Hoyt was wrong and is no better than the Antifa morons who silence others with their acts of violence.

I couldn’t agree more. Leave the violence and infantile behavior to the Left. Honestly, I think the Baby Trump balloon is cute. I don’t know why anyone would be offended.

Ya, every good joke should end with felony charges..

Good thing no one got in the guys way trying to protect the balloon or we could be talking about an assault or murder charge.

Lol.. the danged balloon is worth more than my car..

Reading comprehension is not your forte is it. I was making a joke about Annee's comment, not what this guy did.

Yikes. I'm sorry your balloon got popped.

Yeah, a true patriot right there.

Being triggered by a balloon like a sensitive little snowflake is obviously totally worth losing his 2nd amendment rights over.

I think the people that made the balloon were way more triggered than this guy. All that time and money?

So he stabbed a fake "Trump", and vandalized someone else's property in the process?

I'll just sit here and hold my breath waiting for this to make the outcry from Trump supporters against Kathy Griffin look like a molehill.

I mean, at least she didn't vandalize someone else's property with her "protest".

See, now this is an apples and oranges comparison.

She posed with the fake severed head of a sitting President, knife in hand. And it ruined what little career she had left.

This guy did something foolish and unwarranted, sure, but it definitely doesn't send the message of "Kill him".

If I were an enterprising type, I'd make smaller balloons for mass market. And when you pop them, it goes, "Reeeeeee".

There's no excuse for violence, or destruction of others' property from either side.

That's something every American should be able to agree on, but all to often people default to their partisan lines and are willing to support illegal actions as long as their side is the one doing it.

There's the rub. People like AntiFa hate America and all it stands for, in their minds, so how do you reach them in order to agree on something as basic as that?

The tea party was no different .

Samuel Adams organized it, Alexander Hamilton, Paul revere and John Gill we’re all in on the conspiracy.

Samuel Adams wrote what some call the beginning of our bill rights “ Rights of our colonist “ A year before the event .

Not to mention some of the planners involvement with the articles of the confederacy and the federalist papers .

( all of those people were among the founders of the bill of rights )

The Boston tea party was no different by your standards it was a violent action that resulted in damage to private property .

Did the people at that time think the tea party would lead to the “ intolerable acts” which led to the first constitutional convention and helped start the revolution ?

I’m sure the Tories were calling it a criminal action because they believed it was criminal. The patriots felt otherwise, along with the founders of our country .

I view Hoyt’s actions as patriotic i’m very surprised that a lot of Trump backers here don’t feel the same.

If you sit on your hands you get nothing accomplished while someone’s gnashing their teeth in your face . “ don’t hesitate act “

The people on this thread seems to only think..... “ Orange man supporter bad “.

Everyone is taking a tiny little microscopic piece of this action while refusing to view the bigger picture .

So let me rephrase my question. Can someone committing a small crime turn out to be a great thing ?

Or will we continue to say is property damage is bad end of story .

Hat’s off Hoyt do what needs to be done and be willing to take the consequences!

So you're ok with destruction of property?

Right on cue. Lmfao.

Right on cue, pointing out that it's destruction of property being condoned?

Yep.

I don't believe a Group of Americans protesting against a foreign governments control is the same as damaging an Americans personal property

Foreign Government ? What you on about?

The colonists where British Subjects. It was THEIR Government. You do realise George Washington was an officer in The British Army before he turned traitor ?
